    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

1 more question: could I restrict the water flow at the inlet where there is already a valve to both help the hose at the outlet not come off AND hopefully help the filter work, or is that not a good idea or possible? Thanks again.

    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

Thank you! The pump is not a 2-speed model, so I think I will try your adding a valve at the outlet solution for the time being as I look into hard plumbing at the end of the season and maybe a smaller pump so the filter might actually filter out gunk:)

    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

I have been using this for 4 years and have the same problems every year to various degrees. Usually, I am able to get the hoses to stay on for a period of time by adjusting cinder blocks under the hoses by the places they attach, adding offset clamps, etc.. , but this last week I have not had...

    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

The pressure gauge on the filter isn't working... but the return jet has tons of pressure...feels like a super powerful hot tub jet.

    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

Here's a picture of the filter set-up if that helps. The hose that comes off the most often is marked 1 and the hose that comes off the 2nd most is marked 2.

    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

It's the pump and filter that came with the pool as a "package deal" from an outdoor store (The Great Escape). It's my first pool (which I love the swimming part of it:), but I am definitely wishing I discovered this site BEFORE purchasing my pool.

    Pump too powerful?? Now what??

I would appreciate any help, thoughts, suggestions anyone has to offer. Here's my situation. I have an 12 foot round, 52 inch high agp (about 3,500 gallons) with a 2hp pump and pool store type flexible hoses. Despite purchasing new hoses, changing the types of clamps, and adding 2 off-set clamps...

    Need help fixing dumb mistake

At the risk of sounding dumber than when I did this to begin with....I am not sure what you mean. The power cord?? Is just to the left and below (when looking at the pic) of the hole I screwed the nut thing in too far, and the two wires are covered in black.

    Need help fixing dumb mistake

As I was trying to open my agp, i was tightening stuff and "tightened" this (see pic) thing (hex nut? Housing nut. Sorry- can't tell what it is in the manual), and apparently I wasn't supposed to do that because it dropped right into the motor (Hayward Pro-flo lx pump) I tried tipping the motor...

multiple leaks at return(?) where it meets the pool wall

If there was one, I lost it because there is not one now! Since putting down a few cinder blocks for the hose the rest on, I have been able to run the filter for about 30 minutes at a time before a small leak (a drop every few seconds) starts from the very top of the hose right above the clamp...

multiple leaks at return(?) where it meets the pool wall

Thank you, again! The pictures really help. I did place a few cinderblocks together as a base to rest the hose on and so far that seems to have stopped the leaks, but I am sure it is only temporary. The water finally warmed up enough to swim in (no heater since it is about 250 yards from the...

multiple leaks at return(?) where it meets the pool wall

Thank you for the response. I am not very confident in my abilities to use hard pipe since I don't even know what that is, so I guess I will go with the other one. If you are still around, could you answer a few more questions? Sorry, in advance, if they are really dumb questions.... 1) Do I...

multiple leaks at return(?) where it meets the pool wall

Hi, I would appreciate any advice on the following situation. I have a very small (12 foot) above ground pool, and suddenly today, while the pump/filter was running, I saw some water leaking from where the return hose enters the pool and then, boom, the plastic type hose popped off and water...
