Honestly I think this thing is better than just the regular skimmer but I havent been blown away. The surface of my pool is slightly cleaner than it used to be but thats all.

I raised my water level a bit and solved my problem. The surface of the pool does seem to have less debris than normal. Ill keep an eye on it and report back.

No the skim diverter under the skimmer basket is shutting off the flow of water.

I was having a problem prior to buying this with my skimmer diverter shutting off the water flow even though my water level is half way up the skimmer. I need to sort that out first. Maybe a new diverter or remove it all together? I replaced the float valve in my auto filler so im not worried...

Arrived from amazon today. I got it installed tonight. Ill report how it works later.

I ended up using the clean out drain. The submersible pump from home depot took 8 hours to drain the pool. Been refilling since 0200. Keeping it wet now.

I looked around my property and these are the only two things resembling a drain in the front of my house. Any idea which one to use?

Thanks Patrick. I know our water here is hard to start with but hopefully a drain/refill will make my numbers better.

Any tips or precautions on draining and refilling? Do you think I need to drain completely? Should I add fresh water to the pool with a hose at the same time I'm draining to the sewer with a hose hooked up to the dump valve?
