thanks ajw22! I was able to determine that my jandy control center display for salinity was inaccurate, so was able to calibrate it based on the salt level test in the TF100 Salt Pro kit.

ok...jumped in 60 degree water this afternoon with goggles and eyedropper to get some samples. the reddish-brownish patches on the pool bottom mostly appeared to vaporize when i disturbed them, but using the eyedropper, i was able to "suck up" some samples...it almost seemed fibrous or "pulpy...

gone fishin' i've been reading this thread with interest... we've just had a 24' agp installed in michigan...the water temp has been very cold (just now hitting 58-60 degrees). since install, we've had what looks like a reddish-brownish sediment with a slight yellowish hue collect in patches...

i plan on eventually laying a border and 3-4' of landscape fabric, then filling with rocks/gravel & maybe some shrubbery.

well, pool and deck are completed for the most part...still a couple of little things to do... in retrospect, maybe we should've waited til a little later in the year for this project due to the cold, wet weather and saturated ground... the yard is trashed...water, ruts & mud...to be fixed up...

crazy, the pool fencing is sufficient for safety codes here...

yes, we are using the dek-bloks. i have not used them before...on our previous deck, we dug holes and poured footings. seems like these are going to work well...i've already been walking, jumping around on it & it seems very sturdy....no shaking or swaying. obviously, we'll have some frost...

i've always had the classic & trusty weber 22" charcoal grill... but, it's also nice to have a gas grill for a quick, convenient grill...
