Chemistry good but water isn’t pretty

It’s rained overnight and all day today so the water does look a bit off from that, but it hasn’t been cloudy at all. Just not pretty.

Chemistry good but water isn’t pretty

Yes the overnight loss test last night showed zero loss. we’ve always used our hose water (city water) to fill and not had an issue before, but haven’t tested specifically for copper. The only thing I’ve added this year is stabilizer and liquid chlorine. Upon setup 8 years ago I added muriatic...

Chemistry good but water isn’t pretty

My signature seems to have disappeared. We’ve got 29k gallon above ground pool, manually chlorinated.

Chemistry good but water isn’t pretty

I use the TF-100 test kit. Current testing: FC-6 CC-0 Ph-7.6 TA- 70 CYA-50 But the water looks pale turquoise instead of the deep blue we’ve always had in the past. It’s not a very inviting appearance. We’ve been using the TFP method for years without issue, but I do most of the balancing...

Step by step instructions to hard plumb?

I apologize. We’ve seen many general videos. There are so many excellent tutorials online, didn’t realize this would be such a difficult thing to find.

    Overwhelmed Newbie

The price seems quite high. We have a 33’ resin and paid under $5k.

Step by step instructions to hard plumb?

We’ve got a new hose from pump to filter and cannot get it to stop leaking. We’re frustrated and keep reading that hard plumbing (preferably with flex PVC) is the way to go to solve this issue for good. We are experienced DIYers but not with plumbing. I’m sure we can accomplish this but would be...

    Purchase advice? First timer here

Thank you! Very good points. We have 5 kids and I’m sure they will want to use it also. Mostly it will just be my husband and myself, or the kids - not everyone! I need more personal space than that. ? I wasn’t interested in loungers because I’ve heard so many people say they weren’t designed...

    Purchase advice? First timer here

We are considering purchasing a hot tub. There is a local dealer who sells new Viking and Four Winds products, but they also sell refurbished units and service all brands. So no matter what we buy, we do have access to servicemen that have been highly recommended to us. This would be our first...

    Pool pump leaking

Please pardon me if this is answered elsewhere - I did search and couldn’t find my answer. We have a 33’ above ground that we purchased 3 years ago. It came with a Blue Wave pool pump - not the best I realize, but it worked fine for us with zero issues (until the day it died, lol). This year...

Pollen nightmare - need a new filter?

Thank you all so much! This is encouraging. Vacuuming to waste and emptying the dirty DE from the filter yesterday helped quite a bit. I ran filter with skimmer sock overnight. The pool looks MUCH better this morning! Today we plan to vacuum to waste again, brushing cove and stairs especially...

Pollen nightmare - need a new filter?

We are surrounded by woods, not all of which we even own. I don't think removal is an option, unless we're talking about the pool!

Pollen nightmare - need a new filter?

Oh Kim. It is crazy! Yes every time it rains our cars are covered, and the table on the patio has a coating...I've not noticed it so much in other areas, but possibly that is just because they're lighter in color (cars and table are gray/black). If we had spent any time outside last summer we...

Pollen nightmare - need a new filter?

Brief summary - we purchased this home June 2014, installed our pool at the end of May 2015. Last summer we were absorbed with extensive remodeling and didn't spend much time outside, so we didn't realize how much of an issue pollen would be for us. We were concerned about the surrounding trees...

Pollen is killing our brand new pool - HELP!

wrems thank you so much. That is definitely something I have been doing wrong, and so tonight I added more chlorine to compensate. - - - Updated - - - Thanks! From what I read I wasn't sure if the stuff from Lowe's was acceptable (don't use 'Garden DE' ?) I will get that in the morning. Our...

Pollen is killing our brand new pool - HELP!

Sorry, my CC is actually .5 but I had issues with the forum today and could not get back to edit it. I will try that now. Where can I buy DE? Lowe's? Wal-Mart? Kroger? Those are the only stores in my town. lol

Pollen is killing our brand new pool - HELP!

I set Pool Math up to use TFP recommended levels, and it told me I should target 4. ? I've not vacuumed to waste simply because I wanted to see if it was working (skimmer sock) - since I didn't see it there I suspected it was getting stirred up instead of sucked up. ? I did do the OCLT a few...

Pollen is killing our brand new pool - HELP!

I believe I have a pollen disaster on my hands and I don't know how to fix it. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Pool installed about a month ago, followed TFP/Pool School/Pool Math to the letter and water looked perfect...for 3 weeks. Then we had several days of storms in a row, which...

How much should I pay for an AGP?

Adding your location to your profile is helpful, as pricing varies quite a bit by area. We have 33' and paid around $6k including installation and all equipment and accessories, buying a resin model. It was the second most expensive one our dealer sold, not a low end model, so I'd agree that...

    AG liner question...

We just bought our pool this year and most of the more expensive ones were 54", mid range were 52", and cheaper pools were 48". Not sure if that is always true or just a local anomaly but 54" is definitely still being made. Being that our pool is new I've never replaced a liner, but will it...

Intex 15' or 16' by 42" not sure but do know it is only 42"

I'm not sure but I think replacement liner may have to come from Intex. I know I've read others saying they're very expensive. You should be able to patch it though, even underwater. Wal-Mart has underwater patch kits, or a pool store or Amazon. Did you use multiple layers of patch when you did...

    Daycare Pool on gravel?

If I were to use the carpet I would cut/drill holes throughout to help with drainage. It will still get wet and smell, but hopefully not quite as much.

    Best Pool Basketball Hoop

I personally prefer the floating kind. While they're not real, he missed shots almost always stay in the pool. The ball goes out of the pool quite a bit with the post kind, even when kids are older/better, and that becomes a real pain.
