Hi there.... probably one of the best investments I've ever made is a robot pool cleaner... from dolphin... it learns the shape of your pool and runs for a certain amount of time then automatically switches off... i leave it in my pool over winter and only take it out every 3-4 days to empty it...

IMHO... I would take this opportunity to upgrade to a vs pump... the savings alone means it will pay for itself in a very short amount of time.. Im not a great lover of DE filters as i believe a good cartridge filter works almost as well as a DE filter... less the messing about with carcinogens...

Maybe try a rubber ball to plug the hole... or a big ball of blue tac... if you haven't got a ball.

I agree with tim.... i put a similar question To inyopools and they said its all about microns... it is possible to do 2 filters.. but double the work... cut a long story short.... even with 2 filters you are only filtering down to whichever filter does the smallest microns... so if you have DE...

Hold off buying the diverter gasket... it may not fit your filter... See if you can find one online thats exactly for your filter.. or designed for your filter .. Otherwise it may not fit... and a bit of glue wouldnt matter even if yours didnt have any on it if a when you take it apart. One...

Sorry 2 more questions.... How is your waste pipe plumbed... ie. 1.1/2 pipe or a smaller diameter... Have you taken the multiport valve off the top of the filter and had a look at the spider gasket...

The spring it self is easy to reseat... ive had no problems with them and ive done 100s. The sight glass should just unscrew so you can clean it... there is a rubber washer that it screws onto maybe check that first... does water spray out when in filter mode. ??

How old is the filter...? If its a few years old.. then its a good idea to replace the o ring and the spider gasket while you have it apart... for the sake of a few dollars its worth changing both at the same time... save you alot of headaches later. Be sure to check the spring also... does the...

The leak you are describing and pictured is on the pressure side of the system ... not the suction side of the pump. If the pump basket has air in it also... there is another leak in the pipe work or even the O ring on the pump lid. First thing i would do is check the o ring on the pump lid.make...
