    stains keep returning

Did AA treatment at the end of last season worked well. Didn't keep ph low and didn't know how to manage Sequestration agent so stains came back. Left them all winter and now at the swim season will try AA again. How often and how much sequestration do I add to keep the stains at bay?

    Just finished AA stain treatment

Yes I did and I think I over did it. I'm working on getting the pool volume down pat. I originally thought 21000 with calculations but should probably use less. Possibly 18,000. I'm going to redo it today and do sections. The CH had dropped to 200 and I had not watched it. So making a big...

1st big issue in 9 years

Update, on the high CC. I continued for 2 days keeping my Chlorine level at 16 which was shock for my CYA number. The CC went down and down of course and finally this morning only .5 CC. I'm headed to normal and won't let this happen again. Thru it all Trouble Free Pools had the best...

1st big issue in 9 years

a new day and new numbers. FC 15.5 and CC 20 The overnight FC loss was only .5. I checked it late last night and early this morning. I brushed the pool and could see the dead algae at the bottom of all the walls. It seems to go away with the brushing. Pump still running. Water still...

1st big issue in 9 years

After 9 years or so of reading pool solutions and now Trouble Free Pool I have a problem which may have been self generated but is getting the best of me. I started to notice that I was getting some sort of staining on the sides of my pool and suspected that it may be some slow to show up metal...

Ascorbic Treatment to rid Pool of metal stains

If your pump can only filter, meaning you can't just circulate and bypass the filtering process then is it okay to pump and filter when you initially put the A acid in? Is there another way to bypass the filter? I'm guessing you don't want the filter to initially stop the A acid process is the...

    Hayward Northstar 1HP pump

The first day I used the t-ring it sealed pretty well. When I went and checked my pump this morning it had lost it's seal and the water had drained out of the basket. I just don't want to go thru the old blue expensive o-rings again. I think I'll try Hayward to see if they can provide a...

    Hayward Northstar 1HP pump

I have a question about a new lid for the Hayward Northstar 1HP pump. I bought the pump in 2001 and it has a blue o-ring that gets lubed and helps the lid seal after cleaning the skimmer out. This o-ring has cost anywhere from $24 to $33 depending on where you buy it. When my pump begins to...

Were does everyone store their Test Kits?

Laundry room in a closet where it's dark away from the outside sun and heat. The extreme temps and long lasting sun here is Ca destroy not only Chlorine but everything in it's path. 8)

Just signed up. Member of Poolsolutions forum and kits from way back when. Had a lapse in pool study for a few years but I'm back in the pool and ready for school. I tried to re-do my membership at poolsolutions but it just didn't seem the same as I remembered it. I looked thru this one and...
