    Intex pool Drain Line

I was actually looking at this yesterday. but I was considering it so that some of the sediment that ends up in the bottom of the pool would be directed to the filter. I have reservations about the size though. Seems really small to be used for any suction.

cheap and easy extra pool heat

yeah its no solar cover....just a little passive heat from the black bag catching some rays. I couldn't find a solar cover when shopping for one so I tossed a few of these in the pool to try and knock the chill off the just filled pool.

but you know......it is possible that this tied version will work better....the trapped air will be heated by the sun and be transferred to the water below.... Now I want to make a both versions and toss a thermometer under each one out of curiosity. Thanks for posting the pics WitchyD

cheap and easy extra pool heat

that's exactly what I did.....except I left the end open....so the water just eases in and out on its own, my guess is just due to the thermal that is created inside the bag. I suppose you could put a few holes in the "bottom" of the bag to increase flow....but that may cut down on the resultant...

Handy link for dry powder conversions

convert dry ingredient volumes to cups... http://convert-to.com/753/baking-powder-conversion-plus-nutritional-facts.html used it to figure how much baking soda to put in my pool...in cups instead of quarts as the calculator spits out.

I dont have an account to upload pics to, but there is not much to take a picture of......bend the noodle into the letter U and hold the two ends with one hand....slide it into the open trash bag and then let go of the two ends of the noodle...the noodle will spring back open and be held by the...

cheap and easy extra pool heat

took a pool noodle, bent into the letter "U" slid a thick contractor grade black trash bag over it, left the ends open, tied it to the side of the pool with a 3' string. Water flows in and out of the open end, getting warmed up while trapped inside. Same concept as the DIY hula hoop lily...

I envy you folks with lawns to build on (new build on gravel)

bought two more and did the triple seam thing.....actually wish I would have done more now, it feels good but a part of my foam shifted during set up. Anyone have an opinion on the fact that my feet are on my tarps....so I have tamped base, paver, expensive tarp, cheap tarp that came with the...

got 2" of water in the Pool!!!! found out the pool needed to be moved about 6 " because one of the pavers is under the liner and I can feel the corners of it as I am working out the wrinkles..... This project never ends.

    what my next move

I was hoping someone would reply, I have the same question.....finally just said screw it, put the tarp on top of the pavers, foam on top of that, and the supplied ground cover on top of that..... My feet are on the paver with the tarp and ground cover under them.....foam is coped around the paver.

    My First Build

awesome! I just got 2" of water in mine this evening....started working out the wrinkles and realized that the entire pool was shifted to far to one side....placing the sharp corners of two of the 12x12 pavers I used to be up against the liner. I stopped filling and will wrestle with it...

I grabbed 2 rolls of gorilla tape when I bought the foam. Actually what we have is more like parking lot gravel, the sand I'm talking about is actually from a creek on the property and is more of a mix of red clay sediment and sand, I hope that after compacting it the result will be pretty...

Wife and I decided to set up an above ground in order to teach the kids how to swim this summer. the place that would be ideal is technically our front yard and the 18' round intek we bought would almost cover the grass completely. So we are using a section of what we previously used as...
