Pool is existing, it was installed 20 years ago. I am new home owner an am installing a new patio so while it's all open I will be replacing the underground plumbing with rigid 2".(currently flex 1.5"). This is where I have my dilemma as far as how to replumb. Adding 2 new returns may be too...

    plumbing question

Where would you add returns? I'm not quite following on your statement with the main drain. I have 1 main drain whose plumbing line goes straight to the filter pad on its own valve.

    re plumbing pool

From what I've dug up it looks like flex poly for 2 skimmers, main drain and returns. Then when the plumbing gets to approx 20 ft from the filter pad it turns to black poly, then rigid pvc was used above ground on pad.

    re plumbing pool

I guess my main question is I'm trying to determine how long pool plumbing is good for. My concern is the plumbing has been installed since 1995, I'm not sure whether it's at the end of it'd life or whether plumbing should be good for another 20 yrs. I figured I'd ask the question before pavers...

The big question now is should I re plumb the underground piping. The pool is inherited and is 20 years old. Liner was replaced last...

    Beginning Signs of Algae

The two spots I saw algae was under my ladder and in the corners (mostly shaded), but It was very noticable. My pool has not been cloudy, it was sparkling clear even with the algae I saw. I will be closing the pool in approx 2 weeks if that means anything

    Beginning Signs of Algae

Ive read through the Slamming Process multiple times. and am currently in the midst of slamming my pool because I started to see blotches of green on the walls of my pool. (Pool is clear as can be though). My question is before I started slamming my pool I would have a FC loss of approx 2-3 ppm...

Top of Steel wall pool exposed

I just replace the liner to my inground pool. In order to replace the old curved coping with the new extruded coping (for future pavers) I had to remove the first row of existing brick from around the pools edge. Now that the new coping is installed I have the issue of having the top surface of...

    Replaced Liner now filling pool

Thanks for the help, My pool is approx 36,000 gallons. My only thought for using the Trichlor Pucks is the fact that I replumbed the Filter so I added a inline puck dispenser. The previous owner used to put the pucks directly in the skimmer. I just didnt want my investment of a puck dispenser...

Hi everyone, I am new to the pool world. Last year was my first year owning an inground pool (20 x 40) and let just say it was not a fun experience.
