Deck cracking before pool is complete???

I can't say for sure, but if my memory is correct, they did not. I think I'd be less concerned if the coping tile wasn't cracking as well.

Deck cracking before pool is complete???

I believe that it's mastic caulking between the coping and the deck. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the forming. It all happened while I was out of town. The closest picture I have is just gunite, but you can see the large amount of backfill that needed to happen.

Deck cracking before pool is complete???

I'm having these cracking issues pop up relatively quickly on one side of the pool, and would like some help on what I should expect from my builder. The deck was poured in December, but the builder is moving so slow that I haven't paid the final payment yet. Almost immediately after pouring we...

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

Well, the weather cooperated, and we had 3 days of sunshine. Each morning the pool builder told us the plaster crew was coming, and each day they did not come. Called this morning, and PB said the chance of rain is too high today, and they were afraid of streaking. So that means no plaster...

New pool build - McKinney, TX

I'm planning on using the in-line chlorinator for a while with the tablets that the builder gave me. I'll use that until the CYA is up where I want it.

First Pool Excitement - Virginia Beach, VA

Well it could have ended much worse. Are they going to have to do a gunite flash or something to stabilize the walls before they keep going?

Really jealous of that stamped concrete. I should have just went for it, but I was over budget as it was. Looks like a really relaxing space!

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

Yeah, our entire build got set back weeks 2 days in. We were supposed to have gunite done on Saturday before Memorial Day, but he changed it to Tuesday. Then it rained a ton all week, gunite went in late, and it snowballed. All the time that the gunite was curing, we had sunshine, and as soon as...

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

Aaaaaannnnddd the plaster crew no showed. It wouldn't be so bad, but the forecast calls for thunderstorms the rest of the week. I have relatives coming in town this weekend, and was really hoping to show off the new toy!

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

We've had some progress! The deck finally got finished. Redid the spillway with Flagstone. The cleanup crew came this morning and removed all of the forms, and used what was left of the dirt pile to smooth out the yard. Another crew showed up while I was writing this post to...

Brand new pool just filled - pool builder a No Show - can I start it up myself?

I know your pain. My pool builder is taking a 3 week vacation in Europe right now, leaving us no way to contact him. Plaster is supposed to go in Monday, and I have no idea what kind of support we will get.

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

We decided to go with flagstone for the spillway, but the tile guys aren't coming back to do it until this Friday, which is 2 weeks since we first told them to redo it. The pool builder just told us that we are scheduled for plaster on Monday. If that happens, and we have the pool filled by...

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

Haven't had a lot of updates because we went 3 weeks without anyone showing up at all. Pool builder said that the contractors are getting behind because of rain and the World Cup. They finally came and did tile and coping last week. It's turning into a bit of a mess, and I'm not sure if my...

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

KoPlumbing started up Tuesday, and it seemed like they got everything fine but filling in the trenches. One guy from the crew showed up Wednesday and filled them in. That seems inefficient because the electricians dug them right back up today. I spoke with the crew chief, and he's going to add...

Thank you. We really like the big spa, but I think we are already wishing the sun shelf was bigger.

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

Gunite crew has made a surprise appearance. They showed up a little after 230, and immediately started putting up plastic barriers. Now they are draining the but of water that's in the bottom again, and it looks like they are putting some backing board behind the rebar where the walls eroded in...

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

I was sure worried about it. The gunite guy that came out to put out the plastic yesterday told me he had just come from 3 pools that had all collapsed. This one held up pretty well, and they are digging out the parts that need it right now. Still don't know when they are going to gunite. It's...

And it's empty.. Took the crew 45 minutes to get it all pumped out. Told me that we have way less damage from the storms than the rest of the area so we are up next for gunite.
