    Storm Damage

We had a major strom come through Central Georgia early yesterday morning. I had tops of pine trees, a patio set and roof shingles and so on in the pool (non of my own!). Have most of it out now and the pool company is going to send a diver over today at 5 to look for holes and so forth on the...

    Pentair IntelliBrite housing cracked

Re: Brown dust or dirt in pool It could be a start of a algae bloom which would be very slow this time of the year but can still happen. I would do an over night chlorine test to see how much you lose and go from there just to make sure.

    Red eyes!?!?

How did you come up with a TC of 3 when your FC is 5? Is this meant to be CC? If so that could be you problem.

Can this be the beginning of yellow algae?

Because the algae is consuming the chlorine overnight. You will need to get you shock level back up to where it needs to be and try to maintain it there as much as possible. When you have less then 1 PPM drop overnight and everthing is clear the shock process is over and then time will lower...

First test with the TF-100 results

As you can see something is eating up the chlorine overnight and it is not sunlight! :) So you need to get the FC back up to shock level and check it as often as possible today and add bleach as needed.

First test with the TF-100 results

I would keep checking the FC every hour or so to make sure you keep the FC at shock level. This is a very important step in shocking your pool. You have to keep the FC as close to shock level as possible. The more you can keep it at shock level the faster the process will go. Then when you...

    Pool completed outside of Austin

Very nice pool and welcome! Are you in Horseshoe Bay? I have a friend that is getting ready to build a pool there and is using Cody Pools and was wondering if Cody built your pool also.

    Installing SWG this weekend

The only thing I see is you might want to bring your TA down a little over time to keep the PH from raising so fast with the SWG. Mine works better around 70 TA but all pools are different.

How often is normal to add salt

The only time you should have to add salt is from splash out or backwash where you have to add water or from rain when you have to drain some water to waste. Salt does not evaporate so as the pool water goes down the salt level will become a little higher.

    TF 100 test kit help

If you do need to shock the pool it will take a lot less chlorine to shock it at 20PPM CYA then 70PPM. I would shock it first if needed then bring the CYA up to 70PPM which is very important for your SWG system.

    TF 100 test kit help

Have you done an overnight test on the FC to see what the loss is? If it is more then 1PPM then you will need to shock the pool. I would bet this is your issue and this is why you are having to operate the SWG at 100% if your CYA is truly in the 70 range.

    CYA levels

I do not believe 34500 gallons is correct for that pool. You need to take the average depth for the whole pool which is I would guess would be around 5 feet and that would give your pool in the 20K gallons range.

    PUMP RUN TIME QUESTION????

They say at least one turn over of the pool. So figure how many gallons per hour your pump puts out and then divide the gallons in the pool. But more cannot hurt except for the power bill!

Do I need to increase my CYA and TA a tad?

If you are running your fountain that will also drive up PH along with the SWG.

    Too much salt

It depends on wht your manual states on the idea salt level, they do vary some. The only way to lower the salt level is water replacement.

No Free Chlorine, pool is cloudy...high phosphates

You need to run the pump amd brush the pool often when you are shocking. I can just turn my SWG off by a switch on the box but if you can not I guess 0% would work.

No Free Chlorine, pool is cloudy...high phosphates

The salt is important but getting you FC to stay stable overnight is way more impotant at this moment and you can not do that with you SWG. You need to keep doing this with liquid chlorine and keep it at shock level until < 1PPM loss overnight and then you can deal with the salt level which is...

Pool base soft & vinyl wear from polaris?

You have the same liner that I have and I have the same wear marks in just over a year in the same area. My PB said it is the polaris and was nothing he could do about it. What is a track conversion kit?

    Newbie Question

Hi Madeline You do want your CYA between 70 or 80 and I have found that 80 is better for my pool. You also want your FC a little higher. I would leave the SWG where it is at now unitl you can get to a level of 4 FC and the CYA is where you want it and then tweet it back. Ken
