    Freeze in North Texas

Ah, my mistake. Meant to say backwash valve. It had a minor drip/ leak that I forgot about and froze. The handle sheered, popped and cuased chaos.

    Freeze in North Texas

Me too. Unfortunately, my back flow valve cracked and I've got a frozen solid pool. Hopefully I drained the heater and pump in time.

    IntelliCenter2 Migration to Pentair Home

Well, I "upgraded" as well and the intellicenter2 site is inop on any browser I've tried.

    IntelliCenter Meeting

Yeah, I think I’ll call Pentair and see what the real deal is. (Apologies for the minor thread hijack, but I’d be interested to hear what AZ’s reps have to say.)

    IntelliCenter Meeting

Interesting. Pentair sent the tech to replace a single failing valve and he replaced both with the CVA-24Ts.

    IntelliCenter Meeting

Might want to ask if the demise of IntelliValves rumor is true. I’m told they are failing at an alarming rate and Pentair is replacing warrantied valves with the previous, reliable version. Both mine were swapped out today, under warranty.

Intellicenter Users - Freeze Protection warning

I wanted to close out my experience with Pentair regarding the freeze incident. Once notified of my complaint, Pentair reached out immediately to resolve the issue. I can report that they have since agreed to my requests and I am completely satisfied with the final outcome. Sometimes it just...

    Calcium buildup

I had a company blast my tile and rocks (very similar to the op <- see waterfall in avatar) and they easily removed the scale with no damage.

Intellicenter Users - Freeze Protection warning

Got a call from Pentair today informing me they’ve received my complaint. Seems they are wanting to address the issue and indicated it’s unfortunate it wasn't handled before taking action. Progress

    IntelliCenter 2.006 Firmware

My guess is this "timely" update *is* freeze related.

Intellicenter Users - Freeze Protection warning

What's even more frustrating is that we built this pool in 1998 and for the last 25 years have never had an issue with freeze protection. The original mechanical (?) freeze protection has never failed. The very first year we installed the $$$ IntelCenter, it failed to activate. I know it was set...

Intellicenter Users - Freeze Protection warning

Update. I spoke with Pentair, they are not going to provide assistance or warranty. Though the woman was very nice and understanding, ultimately the responsibility for ensuring freeze protection is operating falls on the consumer. I am quite upset as I know the freeze protection has always...

Intellicenter Users - Freeze Protection warning

I don’t know the why’s or how’s, but I’ve always had freeze protection “ON” for pool and spa in the Intellicenter that was installed this summer. Woke up yesterday to 7º temps here in Texas and the pump and lines were frozen - freeze protection was not enabled! Tented the equipment and left a...

    IntelliCenter and SWCG Communication

I was having similar issues with pool circuits not activating. The above suggestion works great - schedule "Pool" for the duration and anything that falls inside the window works fine.

    Waterfall material

We’ve had this natural rock waterfall since the pool was built 25 years ago. We’re planning a major remodel in the fall, we’ll replace a few border stones, but the waterfall will stay. The bottom stone sits below waterline on a ledge.

Thank you. Can you provide the formula for this. I guess the number really means little, since tests show 6+.

    SWCG adjustments

Edited above. 15000 with about a 1k spa. (Based on builder’s estimate, I never verified)

    SWCG adjustments

I’ve got an IC40 and IntelliCenter 15000 gallon pool/spa here in TX and have been trying to get my chlorine under control. I run the pump 10 hours a day at 55% and my FC is 6-7. I just lowered it to 50% to get the FC down to 5-6. It’s a new system, so maybe the fresh cells are more efficient.

Any way to schedule intellicenter super chlorinate?

No worries, thanks Jim. I don't remember the exact #, but you may not be wrong. I think I was about 20. I'll redo once I get the proper kit to know my CYA level. Many thanks.

Any way to schedule intellicenter super chlorinate?

Thanks. New kit ordered. I appreciate the help. I'll check the actual CYA and redo. (And keep FC up around 4 till then)

Any way to schedule intellicenter super chlorinate?

OK, thanks. I could search, but would you recommend a kit please that has the required CYA test?
