    Resilience SWG???

Dean, those were my initial thoughts, I wouldn't be saving much if i had to toss it in the trash after a season or two!! Yes ill install it myself, I have cut/glued plenty of PVC! I did notice i still get the full 7 Yr warranty on a DIY install. Just have to figure out how to squeeze it in after...

    Resilience SWG???

Is anyone Familiar with this brand of SWG? I am about to pull the trigger on an SWG. My pool is 28K gallons so doubling that puts me in the 60K category which doesn't leave me with many options. I don't have any automation so the Circupool RJ60 was looking like the best option at about $1,500...

    Using bleach

As far as the CC, OCLT, and cloudiness, they all go together. As soon as the slam kills every In the pool you’ll pass the cc and oclt test then when the filter catches up the water will clear. You can’t really target them individually. Just be diligent about keeping the FC at the slam level...

    Pucks in Floater

Pucks last a little over a week in my floater. They probably won’t dissolve fast enough to keep up with your 4ppm demand. I would just load up your floater and continue to test and add liquid daily. With the pucks in there you will just have to add a little less than normal until they completely...

    Party with kids

That’s what I do, right before the party bump the chlorine up to the top of the recommended range for your cya. Then test and add chlorine when everyone is done swimming. I have lost as much as 5ppm with a 5 hour 15 kid swim party...

Pentair Superflo VS - setting up to use heater and salt system

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I just successfully installed a solar touch with a superflo pump. Just as said above the com wire was wired into the booster pump relay and worked perfect. The only issue I ran into was the actuator turned the 3 way valve 180 degrees. Which was wound up...

Which parameter (pH/TA/FC) to target next?

The most important thing is getting CYA then chlorine in there. The puck(s) will add a little bit. So I would test first then adjust.

SWG vs. chlorine -- any reason NOT to do it?

2-3 gallons a day is quite a bit. But you say you have 19 grandkids. I do know when I have a couple of four year olds in the pool for a few hours I loose an extra 1-2 ppm for the day. They drink lemonade and eat watermelon all day and never have to go potty....[emoji848][emoji6]

Yep the sun mostly. Normal daily loss is between 2-4 ppm.

Cloudy water for 2 weeks with no algae on walls...help

For the TA test keep adding drops until there is no color change then don't count the last drop.

Cloudy water for 2 weeks with no algae on walls...help

TA might be a little high but I wouldn't worry about it. PH is too high I would get that down. TA will naturally come down over time.

Cloudy water for 2 weeks with no algae on walls...help

Yes FC is 3 with three drops in a 5ml sample. Watch the chlorine. 3 is way too low for a cya of 80. a few days of that in a row and you'll be back to cloudy water. I would shoot for 10 and never get below 6.

What is considered a too high salt level in non-SWG?

I have been wondering why my stone is flaking... thanks!! One more reason to get a swg next season.

Cloudy water for 2 weeks with no algae on walls...help

Cya shouldn't have gone up unless you added something with cya in it, which it sounds like you haven't. Sounds like the pool looks good. I would raise the FC up to 10 and do an oclt, if you pass that and cc is less then .5 I would call it done. Then you can go to daily maintenance.

    Phosphates

I had a coupon so went to the local pool store to get some liquid chlorine. Just for fun I had them test my water. They were under by 20 on my cya and phosphates were 1200 [emoji6] I have had a crystal clear pool for three years.

    Anthony Sylvan Skimmer Basket Stuck?

I'm not familiar with that brand but from the pictures it looks like it needs an 1/8 to 1/4 turn clockwise to unlock it then pull it out?.?.? You might try turning the pump off so there isn't any suction pulling it down.

    Chloromax Texhnology?

So I use to buy at Lowe's it was always fresh and $4 a gallon. Then I get $15 off $50 coupons online and was out the door with 13 gallons of 10% for like $38. Pretty much the best I could do around here. Then they went up to just under $5 a gallon so I started shopping around at pool stores...

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

Not a permanent fix for sure. And another thought on plugging the reducer; its tough to tell how much was cut off but I wouldn't try to glue a plug if you don't have enough depth in the hole to cover at least 3/4 of the plug. It's all fun and games until you spring a leak draining the pool...

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

One other thought. That looks like a reducer in the t. If it is reduced down to 1/2" maybe a 1/2" plug would work? If you try this, plug the hole with your finger or something and fire the pump up to see if it is leaking anywhere besides the small hole. If it is leaking somewhere else it will...

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

I don't think you will find a female to go over the T. Get one of those tools mentioned earlier to ream out the inside then glue a plug inside.

Can I re-use existing pump union?

One more tip, when you remove the pump there will be o-rings in the union check them closely, might even take them out and lubricate. If the rings are split or cracked replace them with the new ones that came with the pump. Also make sure the mating surfaces on the union are clean before you...

Can I re-use existing pump union?

I would try it, I don't think you have much to loose. Assuming the threads match worse that can happen is it leaks and you have to put on the new ones.

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

I have never seen one of these, I learn something new on this forum every day. Thanks!! Yes this is definitely the way to go, use this to drill out the left side of the T and glue a plug in there.

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

Tough to tell from the picture but I wouldn't cut. If there is a plug glued in you might have to try and remove it. If threaded just unscrew and replace with a plug.

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

I would try to cap the t if at all possible. 1.5" doesn't leave you much to work with and if you do cut and replace then spring a leak you'll be stuck jack hammering :(

Need Some Advice To Fix This Plumbing Leak

Is the T cracked or just leaking out of left side of the t where you have the epoxy? If the left side I would say try to leave the t and cap it. Reason I say is your pretty close to the concrete cutting down is pretty much your last chance. If you do cut you might consider glueing on a threaded...

    Liquid + Solid chlorine strategy

For 1 yes you can use pool math to calculate an addition add it then after 30 mins of pump running test again to see if you hit your target. Assuming the volume you used in pool math is correct this will tell you if your bleach is as strong as you think it is. This isn't a perfect test but...

Pool Automation Chemistry ... Impact of sun/weather variables on chlorine levels

My stenner is rock solid I can go several weeks and stay +\- 1 ppm FC. I do manually ramp up in spring and ramp back down in the fall. I will also manually dose before and after a big party but I don't think that can be avoided. Maybe a program could help with the seasonal ramping. That being...

How do I safely remove the PB4-60 booster pump, all electrical, etc.?

I haven't seen this mentioned. But after you flip the breaker make sure to double check every wire with a volt meter before you mess with it. This will at least make sure you don't get zapped.
