Yes! I see this now. Once again thanks for getting me straight I had never seen the link before and I didn't realize what I was looking at. My pool water has become kind of an obsession and I love to tweak it to all of the recommended levels you guys have so when I got confused I had to ask.

Jason, So on the pool school chart if you have a CYA of say 80 you MinFC is 4 and the target is 6. Then the other one has a MinFC of 5.8 and a target of 9.1 for a CYA level the same. Look I don't want to be a nut case if the one posted in pool school is good I will stay with that.

Thanks for the help guys, I raised my FC for a few days and pointed my returns up towards the surface at night to get some water circulation on the bottom of the cover,also added about 4 scum balls and this did the trick no more scum. Thanks as always love this site!

Thanks guys, I'm going to bump my FC up for a few days and let it sit and see. Is it possible to get rid of something like this without doing a full SLAM. I'm thinking maybe bring my FC up to 10 and hold it for a few days. I have some of the pool perfect enzyme is that maybe the better way to go?

I have ordered a recommended test kit I just haven't gotten it yet My pool installer recommended the chlorine bump. I will save anymore questions Until I get a proper test kit.

The test results are the same except I put 4 lbs of granulated Chlorine in to try and kill the scum so that is now about 10 Ppm. Still using the strips but the scum is less since I put in the extra Chlorine
