    Wrong Ahh-some product

I’m battling white mold & want to make sure it’s all purged out of my lines. I read somewhere to run it then leave it overnight & run the jets again the next day. Is this good?

    Wrong Ahh-some product

I bought some Ahh-some on Amazon and got Winter Pool Clarifier & Biocleaner instead of the Hot Tub plumbing & jet cleaner. Will this still work to purge my jets? Is the dose different?

    Unknown substance floating in tub

It’s sticky. There are only 2 of us using the tub 2-3 times per week. I did a round of Ahh-some & changed the water in November. Balanced the CH & alkalinity + then. Haven’t checked these 2 since as it usually didn’t budge much after that. The slime is kind of chunky and masking tape yellow...

    New hot tub chemistry problem

The chemicals are proprietary to Beachcomber Hot tubs here in Canada. This is the kit that came with the tub: https://www.beachcomberhottubs.com/catalog/product/view/id/871/s/care-free-tote-70029/category/478/ I retested yesterday and with my kit DPD: FC 1.0 CC 0.5 pH 8.2. TA 150 CH 60...

    New hot tub chemistry problem

Hi all, Our new hot tub(175US gal) was installed a couple of days ago. The installer added all the chemicals that came with the tub. There has been an overwhelming chlorine smell ever since. They supplied test strips & I have a TF-100 kit. My tests don't come close to the strip tests. I haven't...

    New Liner Decisions

Hi all, We have an 18x36 kidney inground that will need a new liner soon. Our old liner is light coloured which I appreciate because I can see if algae is starting and can slam it asap. I like the look of the darker liners. Can you see the algae on the darker liners? What other suggestions does...

Ideas to fasten solar blanket to reel

Hi all, My solar blanket ties keep coming away from my reel. In the past I have used plastic drywall anchors into the holes with the screws provided. Anyone have a better idea as the plastic gets squished and broken when I put them into the holes with the screws. They don't really hold well...

    Diamond submersible cover pump.

I figured out how to remove the electrical by chance. It's held in by a couple of plastic pins.

    Diamond submersible cover pump.

Hi all, I have an older Diamond pump(label says PN 306656) that has developed a rip in the electrical cord at the pump connection. I want to disassemble the pump to fix the cord. Can anyone talk me through how to get into the windings? I don't want to mess up the seal. I have the outer cover off...

    Replaced shaft seal, still leaking.

Installed the Viton yesterday. No leaks overnight. Took my pump to a pump specialty shop. He said there was no reason why the lesser quality seal shouldn't work. He also said to install with no lubricants at all. Another thing he did tell me was that sometimes where the seal meets the impeller...

    Replaced shaft seal, still leaking.

Still leaking, guess I'm going back in. I have Magic Lube & O-Ring lube (www.filtersaver.com) at my disposal. Which do I use and what surfaces do I put it on? Enough is enough.

Reassembled and up and running for now. Switch seemed sturdy.

    Replaced shaft seal, still leaking.

I did not use any lubricant as there seems to be so many different views. Today I disassembled and used dish soap as my transient lubrication for both parts of the seal. But on reconnecting the power supply I broke the motor switch!! So I have it gluing with marine epoxy overnight. Will this be...

    Replaced shaft seal, still leaking.

Hi all, I have a Sta-rite Dyna-Glas series MPRA that had a pretty good leak. I replaced the shaft seal, diffuser seal and the seal plate o-ring with parts listed in my manual. Was perfect for a couple of days, but now has a very slight leak (about 1/2c) per 24 hour run time. Suggestions? TIA PS...

    Backwash in 2 directions

Hi all, I have purchased 2 75' firehoses (for $50 bucks-what a steal!) and my plan is to run 1 to the front yard and 1 to the back yard. This will take some sort of 2 way valve. I have 1.5" PVC coming off my multiport for the backwash. Any ideas on what I can use to achieve this? TIA

    Permanent Backwash/Waste Piping

I want to find some sort of diverter valve at the source so I can choose to use the water in the front or the back yard. Haven't been able to locate on so far.Right now I have 1.5" pvc as my current discharge to the back yard only, but want another to go in the front.

    Another solar heater bubble problem.

So I went up and removed the VRV & put in a winterizing plug. Bubbles are gone. Pressure still 19 as before when bubbles were appearing. Dismantled the valve and found a rubber gasket, a metal disc, a spring and the the mesh cover. Pretty simple the was a small bit of algae on the rubber gasket...

    Another solar heater bubble problem.

The check valve is original with the rest of the system. I did have to replace the diverted a couple of years ago. I have tried the VRV on both ends. What would happen if I completely eliminated the VRV & put in a plug instead?

    Another solar heater bubble problem.

Is it possible to repair a VRV? Mine is the type with the metal mesh on the end. Hard to see where is is a valve and not just a vent as there are no visible moving parts.

    Another solar heater bubble problem.

Hi all, I have had solar heaters installed for about 5 years and this year I am experiencing constant bubbles at my 1st return (I have 3 ). So far I have back washed & deep cleaned my sand filter and switched the VRV from the top of my run to the bottom. When I close 2 of the jets the bubbles...
