Oh...OK...Discoloration or corrosion would be worth the $6 for the 64 oz of hydrogen peroxide. I'll test again..Hopefully I'm down in the 30's by now. Thanks

Huh? ChemGeek above and all over the interwebs say to lower the FC quickly, use 1 cup to 350 gallons to lower the FC by 10 ppm. Why do you suggest I skip the Hydrogen Peroxide now? Not that I can take it out, but to hold off on adding any more? Just trying to add up the facts here. Thanks...

How will the high FC damage the tub? What should I look for? Is the hydrogen peroxide that I used enough for now? Thanks for the help!

I received the new chemicals and did the test twicestwice to determine accuracy. TA = 60 TC = 70 ppm FC = 67 ppm CC = 3 ppm CYA = clear. Never turned cloudy Thoughts? Edit....I added 64oz of 3% hydrogen peroxide. 1000 gal tub. I should see a drop in FC by about 26 if the pool math is correct.

I cut my sample in half with no chlorine tap water which I tested prior to the test and my ppm came up to 75 ppm. So I think something is up with them. I had turned the SWG off when I tested yesterday and I opened up the top. It's going down to 10 degrees tonight so I'll reopen it tomorrow...

I bought it this summer. I don't want to go adding hydrogen peroxide based on my faulty test.

Using the tf-100 I got a chlorine level of 67ppm. Just a bit high, I would say. :( The only question I have is the kit was kept in the pool house and it froze. Do I need to replace the chemicals? Do you think it's accurate still?

We use it quite a bit, but the salt level hasn't really ever been this high. So should I open up the cover and let it air out?

Thank you Jason. I'm in Massachusetts. I did the chlorine test with the tf-100 on the last time it was orange, but I forgot the results. I'll test the correct way tomorrow and report my results.

I've been having quite a bit of issues maintaining the chlorine level. It's an 8 x 10 rectangle that I run for 3 hours on 2100 rpm every day. I've been keeping the chlorinator at 60%. Salt level ranges between 2200 and 2900. I just added about half a bag of salt when it got to 2000 and now...

Cchopkins.....that is techo bloc blu 60mm in Oceana. It's relatively inexpensive, but you need to know that it's a color that they are dropping for some reason. So it's going to be tough to get.

Last update for a while. Time to enjoy! Landscaping and fence are all that remain. The propane tanks will be moved behind the pool house and grass will be put where all the dirt is for now. We will add landscaping beds to those areas, but probably wait a little to see how we use the pool...

Glenn, I love the black liner, and everyone who has seen it rave about it. They are shocked its a liner. I love how much the sun changes the color. A cloudy day makes it like a pond/lake. Sunny as shown in post 46 above makes it a beautiful blue.

Doobs, its progressing but going slowly. The foundation and septic inspections delayed us a bit due to a last minute septic engineering request. I am going to update one large post after the building is completely up, but before patio work starts. Probably 2 weeks away.

Day 1 2014. We're thawed out and putting the pool house basement in. This will house all the pool equipment in a nice dry, quiet, out of sight area and give me some great seasonal storage of pool stuff. Updated renderings:

Thanks Doobs. Great process so far. Love Family pools! They said they'll cover it. I don't have a lot of trees, so it wouldn't do much. But it might make me feel better that it's slightly protected.

We took advantage of a nice fall day to get the liner installed. It's finally time to put the water in!
