CC is 1 ppm which means I'm not done with SLAM, it was .5 for a day then jumped back up to 1.5 and now is down to 1 OCLT havent done yet

I know the piping is 1 1/2" in diameter and there are 1 skimmer and 2 jets. from what I have seen online the max gpm for 1 1/2" pipe is 42 gpm, I know the pump is rated for higher than 42 gpm, but being that there is only 1 inlet from the pool to the pump, I think that the gpm getting filtered...

The Filter is 24" Hayward model no: S244T Effective filtration area: 3.1 FT2 If the filtration rate is 62 GPM, wouldn't that mean that 6 hours is the turnover rate for the pool and this means it turns over 4x a day? Is that sufficient?

the sand was replaced last month and the lateral pipes inside were replaced as well, could channeling occur with new sand

so my pool is still cloudy and isnt clearing up , ive spent close to $200 in bleach, should I just drain and scrub then refill

figured it out, the water had gotten a little too low and air was getting into the line

so the pool is lighter and more blue, now there is a white film of sorts on top of the water looks like flat soap suds, any idea what it is?

Live in Alabama. the highest I have found is at walmart and is what I am currently using. Would there me any issues switching to chlorinating granules or using shock packaged chlorine?

Can I add some clarifier to the water now so that I can see if I have gotten all the debris out of the bottom? I have a neighbor that said he once had his pool cloudy and green and he kept vacuuming the bottom and never got anything up he finally drained it and there was 6" of packed leaves in...

just tested and fc is 14 and cc 1.5 ! :-) let's hope I can keep it around that!

so once the CC is zero, will the FC start rising drastically?

Sorry typo 7.86%. The bleach is 8.25% but only 7.86 % is available chlorine.

I havent been able to get it to the shock level yet, I keep testing and adding the recommended amount, I have already added about 25 gallons of 7.24% bleach in total

so what am I doing wrong if I test, calculate, add recommended amount, hour later test calculate add recommended amount?

so I added 2 gallons of 7.28% bleach and now my FC is 2 ppm and my CC is 1.5 ppm can anyone tell me why my FC is going down when I add bleach

no it started out as a beautiful green swamp then turned yellow, and is now gray. I have been waiting an hour to test the FC should I do it earlier than that? Say like every 30 min.

I have been adding the recommended amount of bleach using the pool calculator and the FC is not increasing, I just used the calculator and it said add 1 gallon, well I added 2 we will see what happens.

So I added Cyanuric Acid the amount required to bring it up to 30, assuming it was somewhere around 20 b/c my test kit would not register the level but the black dot was slightly visible at 30. I have still been adding bleach and the FC is staying around 2-4 ppm, I can't get it up to 13ppm, and...

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Should I increase CYA to around 30 or should I try to maintain shock level at 10, or do both and if I get CYA to around 30 what would the shock level be? Is shock level reading FC, CC, or TC?
