Can I drain and power wash my IG plaster pool?

What’s the update Technigogo? Did you drain? Power wash? How’d it go? I’m in Austin too and considering the same. My pool is much younger, only 4 years old but I’m a little high on CYA anyway so was thinking about a fresh fill and considered a quick power wash too.

    Rainbow Chlorinator always ON

Yeah. Stenner pump is what I was thinking of. Thanks TSplash and Casey! I seriously considered going with a SWG when I built but I have all natural stone on the pool deck as well as the coping. I'm in Austin and the local stone here is fairly soft, so I was worried about the lueder stone...

    Rainbow Chlorinator always ON

It looks like the check valve is bad. Grabbed another at Leslie's and am guessing I can continue using my evil CYA laced pucks soon. LOL On the BBB topic, what's that little bleach feeder pump called again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rainbow Chlorinator always ON

Those little ones keep us unbelievably busy! I look back at my single life and even married life before kids and wonder how I thought I was 'so busy' all the time? LOL....thanks for the link. I was looking for the manual earlier this morning and should have thought to google for it. It can only...

    Rainbow Chlorinator always ON

I appreciate the reply. I know TFP is an anti puck forum, and I've tried the BBB method in the past. I didn't find it as easy to manage because I simply don't have time and or forget to check it every single day. I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old so I can't reliably add bleach on a daily...

    Rainbow Chlorinator always ON

Hey all, I'm not sure if this is the right section to post, but was curious if anyone had any thoughts on my Rainbow 320 chlorinator issue. It's adding chlorine even though the valve is completely off. Is this a common issue with valves? Should I just replace that or could something more...

Re: And Away We Go! New build Austin TX UPDATED 10/31 FINISH Thank you! We went through so many design considerations - started off thinking about concrete, then flagstone, then Belgard pavers....eventually we stumbled on the idea of travertine pavers and really glad we did. Unbelievable how...

Re: And Away We Go! New build Austin TX UPDATED 10/31 FINISH Thank you! Yeah, I was concerned whether we'd have the space as well. It's 8' 8" from the wall of the house to the column, which is the effective 'countertop/grilltop' space. The 'frame' is built from 4" CMU block, so you need to...

    Hydrazzo Too Sensitive?

shmatbert - I also live in the Austin area. What I've learned about Hydrazzo is that it is very similar to standard plaster from a 'wear and tear' perspective. Basically, it breaks down like this as best as I've been able to ascertain: -Plaster is marble dust+portland cement (with color...

    Need Help/Opinions on Spa Spillway

Thanks very much for everyones opinions and comments! My PB and I had a quick exchange about it and will talk work it out this coming week, but I'm pretty sure we'll be moving it. Does anyone have pics handy of a 2 or 3 sheer descent? I know I've seen some but its hard to find them when searching.

    Need Help/Opinions on Spa Spillway

Thanks to both of you. I agree its personal opinion too, but I'm definitely interested in everyone's opinion to see if there is a consensus. I'm going to talk to my PB about it tomorrow. I'm not expecting that to be a fun discussion. ;)

    Need Help/Opinions on Spa Spillway

I'm struggling with something and need some honest opinions. The position of the spillway is not what I originally envisioned. It's going to be a 'scupper' type spillway. I originally expected it to be centered which would make it slightly offset when looking at it from the house/patio. However...

Re: And Away We Go! -- New build Austin, TX -- Pics Yeah, I know it looks weird w/ the rebar sticking out of the gunite. Originally we were going to do a type of wall requiring the gunite, but now we may go a different direction. The PB is being pretty flexible with me. I agree though about...

Re: And Away We Go! -- New build Austin, TX -- Pics No he didn't. Most PB's in Austin just assume there will be rock. All of them basically said the cost is the same whether they hit rock or not. I think they basically average the cost out over all their customers and make more money on some...

And Away We Go! New build Austin TX UPDATED 10/31 FINISHED!

Re: And Away We Go! -- New build Austin, TX -- Pics Thanks! Regarding the RBB, it was originally going to be shot w/ gunite so that we could finish it w/ a veneer stone, but we've since decided we will likely do chopped block/standard masonry type of wall. It's kind of up in the air right now...
