Main Drain Cover No Longer Stationary

Ok. I researched more and there are screws that come with the Adapter. But we just had a Hurricane and the cover was off the pool got trashed with debris. Did that debris go through into my PVC lines or is there netting of some sort down inside to prevent the debris from getting sucked up into...

Main Drain Cover No Longer Stationary

So from what I researched, there are stainless steel screws that keep the main drain cover in place and free from movement. I'm assuming after 25 years the chemicals caused the screw holes to enlarge causing the cover to come off. It's centered on at the moment but I guess I need together a Leak...

Can I Add Shock Through Skimmer? Just This One Time - Hurricane Sally.

Ok Thanks. I hear all sorts of stories adding Shock to a Skimmer will damage filter and Pump but I figure once in a Hurricane can't hurt. And I didn't want my Polaris to suck it up. That was my reasoning.

Can I Add Shock Through Skimmer? Just This One Time - Hurricane Sally.

I usually add it to the pool but we just went through Hurricane Sally and need to Vacuum & use my Polaris 280 to get all the leaves out. But I figure just this one time can't really hurt the filter or pump. I figure it can clear out the lines maybe and clean them up. Thanks in advance.

    Calcium Chloride Crystals

Yea I did that once before. That stuff heats up and burned my hands. I'll wear a mask & gloves this time. It's like 90's here in the panhandle. I'll add it slowly to deep end. It should melt pretty quickly. Thank you for your help Marty. I do appreciate it.

    Calcium Chloride Crystals

Thanks. I got the Calcium Chloride I usually get instead. Do I really have to mix Calcium in a bucket of water to distribute. My pool needs 50 Lbs. I've done this before. It's quite a project. ;-) Can't I just put in 25 LBs in deep end and add the other 25 LBs in a couple of days?

What To Fix First? Calcium, PH or Shock?

It's amazing how fast the Pucks raise the CYA. I put 2 Clorox (New Product) Pucks per Week. From 30 the CYA went to 80 in a month. Ok. I got it. It's going to take tons of Liquid Chlorine. I may try Bags of Cal-Hypo. But last time I used that, Water was cloudy for 10 days.

What To Fix First? Calcium, PH or Shock?

I have 3 issues at once & I would like to know which one to battle first. Don't want to just dump a bunch of different Chemicals in at Once. I need to Shock It. Calcium Hardness is Low. PH is High. FC 3 (Algae growing on Pool Walls) Alkalinity 80 CYA 80 PH 8.2 Calcium Hardness 80 (20' x 40'...

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

Ok. Took plastic steps off. Could not take the entire stairs off with silver handle poles. They are cemented in ground. But the plastic steps underneath have all these nooks and crannys I have them soaking in bleach. Lots of algae in there. Will not put steps back for a week or so. Really want...

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

Ok so I had to start it without the right Test Kit. Yesterday I went underneath the Steps & Found Algae there. Got a screw driver & scraped & tons of Algae & tons of pieces came in to pool. Let my Polaris get it all. Brushed Side Walls. Pump is running 24/7. Backwashed like Once a day. A lot of...

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

Question: A recent new member of the family is a 2 year old boy. He was in the Pool for at least 45 minutes per day. He wears a Swimming Diaper. Could his urine be canceling out the Chlorine? Have since added up to 10 Pounds of Shock. Still No Free Chlorine & No Total Chlorine.

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

I think I made a big mistake. I overdosed the pool on Calcium. My CH was 80 and I added almost 40 Lbs of Calcium. I'm thinking such a large amount might effect my chlorine test. Possible or not? I put enough calcium to bring the CH to 480. I know, dumb move.

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

Your description scares me, but I think your correct. I do have Algae by my steps. Should I shock the pool? My test kit has worked all along for the last year. I understand that it may not be the best test kit.

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

3 days ago I had FC: 4.0 No Tabs in Feeder. Just Ran Out. Taylor K-2005 Complete (High) It's not the Reagents or both Test Kits. They all work fine. I confirmed this with my local Pool Store & he comes up with FC & TC 0. Could too much calcium cause a bad read? Or could it eat up all the...

5 Gallons Liquid Chlorine = 0 Free Chlorine

All Reagents are New. One is a generic Test Kit and the other a Taylor Complete K-2006 I think. So 2 different Kits are reporting the same thing. Water is cloudy after I added all the Calcium. I waited 3 hours after putting Chlorine in & then performed the Tests.

    Best Way To Raise CYA

I use to have a high CYA & now because of Rain & strictly using Liquid Chlorine, My CYA is below 20. Because of such a Low CYA reading, I'm going through Chlorine by the Gallons. I looked in Pool School for the answer, but did not find. I apologize if this question has been answered 1000 times...

No. They are Dimming. It appears to act like the 2 Wall Switches are somehow working together. I have some phone calls in now.
