    Pentair Mastertemp not igniting

So I had an issue where I put 240v to my (as hooked up) 120v heater. Well after replacing a handful of things, I got the heater back up and running however I did notice a long buzzing noise when igniting. I had the heater running a few times late spring and then not running for the past few...

    Pentair 250 Heater

Also wanted to ask. Is it possible that I blew the ignition control module? In the end I put 240v into this and need to make sure I'm ordering all the right parts.

    Pentair 250 Heater

OK so slight update. I got a new fuse and installed it, turned on the power and all was well. I get 26v coming out of the transformer and 26v at the fuse for the firemans switch. The touchpad still id not work so I did what the tech in the video did. I removed the ribbon connector and used a...

    Pentair 250 Heater

So don't ask me how this happened but here is how it went. Out of the three wires coming from the house to the subpanel, the black was where it should be however the red was hooked to the neutral bar and the white was where the red should have gone. I originally wired the heater for 120v with...

    Pentair 250 Heater

I take it back. That fuse is blown. I have another on order to be here Wed. What is that fuse for though? The 24v out of the transformed looked to go directly to the control board (and therefore the touch pad).

    Pentair 250 Heater

Is the power distribution board the control board that's under the touch pad? That looks fine. Also, what does that little fuse go to? It's weird because even with that fuse blown, I can still get 24v on the other side of the transformer.

    Pentair 250 Heater

So I got the new transformer installed and am getting 27v out of the other side so that's good. Problem is, it's still not working. I tried taking out the touch panel ribbon cable and jumping the first two pins and I get nothing. Is there a way to test the control board or is it more like...

    Pentair 250 Heater

Yup. 240v to a heater that was hooked to 120v. Have a new transformer coming Saturday. I guess we will go from there. Not sure what else it could damaged. The heater can be hooked up as either. I chose 120v when installing. Another thought on any other damage. If the voltage immediately...

    Pentair 250 Heater

So the plot thickens. I was measuring voltage and was getting 240v at the heater. Might be fine except for the fact that I wired it at 120v!!!! Called my best friend who is an electrician and it turns out that the red and white wires in my subpanel were switched so the red was going to the...

    Pentair 250 Heater

Hey Folks, Hoping you all can point me in the right direction. Went to turn on the heater for the first time this past week and the touch panel wasn't coming on. On first inspection, it looks like a spider crawled in between the touch panel in the plastic on the cover to make himself (or...

    LED lights tripping outlet GFI

OK, I'm the jackass but figure I would eat some humble pie for the better of others. Turns out that these lights have a delay in them. My previous LEDs were different. When you flicked the switch on and off the lights cycled through the colors immediately. With the globrites, you flick the...

    LED lights tripping outlet GFI

OK so here's an update on the light problem. So I went and bought a 15amp GFI breaker for the lights. I then removed the light switch form the outlet circuit so its on its own dedicated circuit. So now the lights don't pop the GFI anymore however if I flick the switch on and off to fast, the...

    LED lights tripping outlet GFI

So I just finished wiring up my Globrite LEDs (3 of them). When I first turned them on, only two of them worked which turned out to be a faulty LED. After the service guy came and replaced the faulty one, he called me and said that you can turn them all on once, and when you flick the switch...

    LED Transformer hookup

It's a PX100. I did more digging and from what I gather the orange is possible my incoming neutral and I hook up the black 120v to one of the others depending on what type of voltage I need. I'm assuming 12v. My runs to the lights are maybe 60ft at the longest. I would also assume that the...

    LED Transformer hookup

OK, really need some help as I need to have this done this weekend for my final inspection. This is the 100w transformer to run my 3 Globrite lights off of. The manual for installing is about as clear as mud so I could use some help. Each LED has a black and white. I have 120v line ready to...

Any ideas on what colors go to what on the 100w transformer. Won't take me more than 10 minutes once I can get that info. Thanks

    Heater and Globrite wiring

They didn't give me a timer since the Pentair Superflo VS pump has the timer built into it. From what I understand, the heater won't turn on if there is not sufficient water flow/pressure. For sure, I have the bonding wire screwed in.

    Heater and Globrite wiring

Thanks, that's perfect. So once I switch the plug I assuming green = ground, and then the hot and neutral can be wired either way to the remaining black and red, or black to black and red to white? BTW, I love this forum. So many helpful people.

    Heater and Globrite wiring

Hey folks. I'm so close to done it's killing me but two more issue I'm having with wiring. Let me start by saying that Pentair leaves a lot to be desired in the manual category. They really are not clear and the pictures in the manual don't always match what I have. Pentair Mastertemp 250...

Pentair Superflo VS to Pentair Mastertemp

So last question. The heater comes wired for 240v but the manual says there is a 120v plug that can be swapped to switch it. I rather use this and save panel space, especially because I can't imagine it draws much current at all even at 120v. Do those plugs come with the unit or do they need...

Pentair Superflo VS to Pentair Mastertemp

Interesting cause I thought it we intended so your heater could not turn on unless your pump was running so you don’t wind up superheating the water in the chamber.

Pentair Superflo VS to Pentair Mastertemp

Hey folks, I'm in the end stages of having my vinyl inground finished at my house. I opted to do the electric myself which has been fine so far. Wiring the Superflo and the LED lights looks really straight forward however the instructions on the Mastertemp are a bit cryptic. First of all, it...

Did you buy the house with the pool? I wonder if they were never removed from the previous winterizing.

Closing pool for the first time

Well I got it done. Took my time cleaning the de filter really well. Blew out the solar lines with a small shop vac which worked very well. I bought a husky air compressor at HD for $130. Does 4 cfm at 90psi and I think 5 or 6 cfm at 40 psi which seemed to be more than enough. I had...

Closing pool for the first time

So I think I figured it out. The only ones I need to seal off air tight are the two valves going to the bottom drains. The skimmers and the returns will be plugged up and don't need positive pressure in the line. So I guess all I need now is to make sure that my air hose fits the drain plug to...

Closing pool for the first time

So I would really like to close my pool myself this year. We had A&S here last year and I stayed and watched. The process doesn't look very difficult so I would really like to save the $200 this year I have drained the water just about below the tile line (per their recommendation). The...

Should I shock with the solar blanket on or off?

Actually that's really my question. Just wondering which is more effective. I figured having the cover on would keep the sun from eating the chlorine, however I don't know if there are gasses created that need to be released.
