    Featured Ultra mineral control?

Yep, I’ve been following that for a few months now and it’s great! (I was just replying to someone who was like “so what is it?” - I don’t really know. It was 65 yesterday and I put in the recommended amount of stabilizer. I’m not going to test it again since I’m on a weekly test schedule for...

    Featured Ultra mineral control?

Ok, cool. I checked the manual for my SWG and it says if the salt is below 2600ppm it will flash up a light saying “check salt”. If it works the same as long as the minimum is met, then I’m good for now. A few more downpours once the Florida summer pop ups start and I’m guessing I’ll have to...

    Ultra mineral control?

Hi, I’m relatively new here and have used all the great advice here to get my pool into a good zone consistently, and my CSI in a good spot. Just for fun, I went back to pinch a penny to have them test my water and see what they say. Their results were a little off but they were doing a hard...

Ok thanks - I was wondering about that.

    Featured Ultra mineral control?

I’m not testing everything every day since it seems like I’d go through the chemicals very quickly for not much value. When I tested CYA yesterday it was 65 (water line in between 60-70). The app recommended adding 13oz of stabilizer so that’s what I did. That’s been working great for a while...

    Featured Ultra mineral control?

The Taylor test kit says my salt is 2800. Every time. It used to say 3000 until recently. What if my chlorine is a little low now because the salt cell doesn’t have enough salt to maintain my normal chlorine levels? I guess, would my salt cell be more efficient if it wasn’t at the low end of...

    Featured Ultra mineral control?

Yep, thanks! That’s what I was trying to figure out - it really shouldn’t, right? I couldn’t get that question out of my head. And yeah, my CYA isn’t really that low - I added the recommended amount immediately after that reading on Sunday, but I haven’t retested yet so the app doesn’t have...

Thanks for the helpful help and advice and pointing me to that article about sequestrants! Not sure why all the head slamming into brick emojis but ok.

Why is this bad? I got to this site because I started going in daily, and then at least twice a day, and the results were wildly different. I knew there had to be a better way, and I found this site, and got a good test system etc. I was just curious what their “test” would say 😂

Thanks - sounds like I really don’t need it

    Featured Ultra mineral control?

Yep, it’s been fine without it. I was just curious about what it’s actually doing and if it’s possible it does anything worthwhile at all. 🤷‍♂️

    Total alkalinity target low?

Thanks all! Yeah, we’ve had the pool almost two years and never had algae. We were gone for 1.5 weeks at high pollen season and came back to a little bit on the bottom/side. Algae is gone now, pool is sparkling. I was just wondering about the TA. Thanks! I’ll try to keep it lower.

    Total alkalinity target low?

Hi, Does anyone know why in the pool math app, it shows that total alkalinity should be between 50-90? But everything else I’m seeing, including in the booklet for my new Taylor K-2006C test kit, says 80-120? Mine is 110 right now, and the app is telling me it’s too high…see screenshot. I...

    Hi

I’m a new member here, but have owned a pool for about two years. We started initially by having a place take care of our pool, but after continually messing up our pool chemistry (to the point of necessitating a new salt cell!) I decided to take it on myself. I’ve been doing a pretty good...
