We have play sand next to the pool and LOVE it! Since we have a beach entry pool, sand was a must in our design to complete the look :). The Dolphin robot has no problem picking up the sand - so far. We don't have cats so can't comment on that. Oh, be sure to put the weed block on the bottom...

It's honed/filled travertine, matte finish - thought that'd be ok but then contractor sealed it and I think that added to the problem since water doesn't penetrate into the stone easily. Hubby said he found something listed at HomeDepot online that is an edging type product which will take off...

We have 2 bubblers and they are totally flush. Kids love playing around them and I love the look! It does take extra plumbing so maybe he just doesn't want to bother?

Well Patrick, I was letting your comment sink in- maybe i'll just get used to it and enjoy. Then today the pool maintenance guy (not ready for hubby to take over) shows up using powder acid to clean the lime or whatever on the beach entry. And he says- didn't they seal this? WAAH :(

Ours is 4' to 9.5' for diving board, also 26'x12' beach entry where it goes from dry deck to 6" water out at 12'.
