If you ordered the TF-Pro Salt you should not need salt strips. Maybe that's not what you ordered? Ditch the strips and get a drop test kit.

So the fist pH adjustment was 15 oz to go down 0.4. When I went back out for the second adjustment I only had 8 oz of Ma left. I added that and 30 mins later it looked just under 7.8 to me. It is easier for me to see the colors in the high 7 range.

The purple tinge was messing with me too. I’ve been experimenting with less drops in the Taylor kit and TF Pro. Checkout 3 drops (instead of 5) of R-0014 in the TF Pro kit. Looks exactly matched to 8.2 to me. Thoughts?

If the pump is turned on and you see what you perceive as "leaves blowing" AND the jets have water coming out there is likely no air in the pump basket.

If you truly have air blowing leaves around in the pump basket you will not have water coming out of jets.

The number of gallons doesn't really dictate CYA requirements. Can you fill out your signature so that we know more about your pool? What is your TA? What is your testing method?

Can you tell us about the process you went through to confirm that your algae was of the mustard variety?

1) I know. 2) I did. It surprises me the the 2 screens differed by 100% and the one that did not account for actual TA appeared to give the correct answer.

I believe I did read that you could use a good quality digital pH meter but I don't have any experience with them. More info: PH - Further Reading

I suppose you could but I wouldn't. With a target FC of 14 ppm you wouldn't even be able to accurately measure pH (false readings when FC is over 10ppm).
