What is this blotchy black stuff?

Sorry I haven't updated my signature in awhile. It is not painted as it was refinished a couple of years ago in plaster. I use the Taylor kit for my measurements.

What is this blotchy black stuff?

Hi everyone, I've just finished SLAMing my pool for the 4th time this spring and cannot get the marks off the bottoms and sides. The bottom just looks dirty. It is blotchy and black/gray. The sides have lines of yellow/green. Nothing seems to get rid of them. One note is that the CYA isn't...

    what is this?

Here are some pictures. Hard to really show. If you zoom in you will see what looks like someone poured something on the plaster. The pool is no longer painted. Thanks for any help

    what is this?

Just had pool replastered a couple of months ago. I have balanced and kept balance the pool during this time, but can't seem to clear up the bottom of the pool. It looks like dirt on the bottom and has a marble like look. I've attached a couple of pictures that may help in determining what it...

    Jandy Valve Sizing

What if you are replacing the valve and need to use 90deg fittings at the valve? Would a 1.5" Elbow fit into the valve opening of a 1.5" valve or would it require a different size? It would be easiest if I could use the elbows in the fashion as then it would line up with the two return pipes...

Replacing flexible PVC line - trouble getting fittings on pipe

Tonight I cut the end off of the offending pipe and I was able to get the new connection on. So all is good and the pool is up and running. Oh now I have a huge mess to clean up including re-mortaring the wall section I took out and the stairs. Thanks all

Replacing flexible PVC line - trouble getting fittings on pipe

Looks like I'm doing everything right and maybe the end I'm trying to work with is a little distorted. I'll just cut it down and keep trying. Thanks for the tips

Replacing flexible PVC line - trouble getting fittings on pipe

I have taken out all of the flexible PVC, all the way do the hard PVC that is at the skimmer. So I am not dealing with flexible PVC any more. I used the purple primer and then the cement they sell at Lowe's. It usually makes things slid together, but not in this case. What is the better...

Replacing flexible PVC line - trouble getting fittings on pipe

I have dug up my skimmer to find that my pool was plumbed with flexible PVC. It has rigid 1/1/2" PVC coming out of the skimmer. So I cut the flexible PVC off at its coupling. Now I'm trying to put a fitting on the end and I can not get it to fit. The fitting is 1.5" and the pipe is 1.5" but...

    Praher multiport

Looks like it would work then. I suppose the dealers are just trying to sell me the other ones so they can make more money. Thanks for the response.

    Praher multiport

I'm looking at purchasing a PRAHER #SM-10-AO MULTIPORT VALVE 1-1/2" ALL PORTS OPEN FIP (WHITE) to replace my old broken multiport. I'm assuming that this is like all the other valves in that it has ports on the back side (part you can't see in the picture). Anyone here ever used one of...

    multiport bulkhead connections wrong type

After understanding that they have no standard on the connections on pool filters, I did a search for the specific type of filter that I have and I found a Pentair part number for it. I think I will just return the one I have and then get the one that has the correct fittings. Just need to do...
