New Pool Robot Manufacturer... with Brushless Motors(!)?

Interesting theory. But I can 100% confirm that the M400 has brushed motors. I replaced the brushes on 2 of the 3 motors in my m400. Kinda a pain in the butt, and quite dirty, but the motors worked like new after. I think the 36 month warranty is to just give the buyers of $1K+ models a little...

Pentair CC 320 drain plug/o ring

I can report that the aftermarket plug from amazon failed in less than 2 years. It sheared at the threads and my pump emptied out probably 4-5,000 gallons of water. I tried saving a few bucks and learned my lesson the hard way! I am currently reverse engineering this plug (pretty simple) and...

New Pool Robot Manufacturer... with Brushless Motors(!)?

I am in North Carolina and would leave my Dolphin M400 in 24/7/365 and remove it only for swim activities. I would run it minimum once per day. We had a flood where I received a ton of mud in the pool and the m400 performed flawlessly, pretty incredible actually. I self serviced the unit myself...

New Pool Robot Manufacturer... with Brushless Motors(!)?

Yep, it's a gravytrain profit model as the 2 and 3 year warranties all perfectly coincide with the time it takes the 50 cent carbon brush to wear out. It seems people are in a continuous cycle of replacing huge assemblies or entire robots every 3 or 4 years. I don't see myself leaving the robot...

    RoBot maintenance.

Looks like you just needed to replace the brush. All that "dirt" is carbon from the brush wearing down. It's about a 25 cent piece. I replaced 2 drive motor brushes and it worked like new. Just gotta have some basic solder skills which you can acquire from youtube.

New Pool Robot Manufacturer... with Brushless Motors(!)?

Hi All, After going through the messy and laborous process of replacing the two propulsion/drive motor brushes on my Dolphin M400 it now looks like I'll have to repeat the process again on the impeller motor. Well, I started investigating to see if there were any robots on the market with...

Dolphin Triton PS motor replacements / or parts, even better!

My dude, we need to have a beer together after fighting those motor housings! That was one of the most frustrating reassemblies I have done. One the 2nd motor brush replacement i did I made sure to draw lines across all the joints so I could easily realign everything and you definitely need a...

    M600 life

The biggest failure point are the carbon brushes inside the motor. These are 25 cent parts. Brushes are the parts of an electric motor’s stator that conduct the current to the rotor, and they wear out just like the graphite in a pencil. Maytronics wants you to replace the entire motor "unit"...
