Update: Not sure which caused what, but the front bearing is bad (difficult to even turn, and sounds and feels like gravel is in it instead of bearings). Also, the motor coils are black along with the white part of the shaft. (images attached). I guess I need a new motor, correct?

Thanks Allen. Blinking 8 times and this time when resetting it, it turned on for a few seconds and it sounds like it's mechanical. A bad grinding, sounds like there were rocks in it before it stopped again. Guessing this may be costly?

Yes, the alarm LED is blinking.

I do have a volage meter, but I don't know what L1 and L2 is :)
