    Soaking Filter to clean

What is common to soak a large filter to clean it? 5 gallon bucket is way too small. Is a cheap trash can good? I have Strip Kwik and am thinking if I fill a trash can of water, it may be difficult to move it when I need to dump the water and strip kwik. Suggestions?

    Heat Pump Size Question

My pool is 16x36, approximately 18,500 gallons. I’m looking at a Pentair heat pump. The two sizes I’m between are the 125k and 143k. The price difference is $1,000. Is it worth the price to go to the 143 or go with the 125? Thanks.

    Draining Water

How often is too much to drain water after a rain storm? I’m trying not to waste my chemicals or get my chemicals out of balance, but we keep getting rain and my water level keeps going above the skimmer. My initial hope is to just allow the water to evaporate, but it’s raining more than...

SWG - High usage in pool question

My apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I am on my first year with a SWG. From my understanding on here and at my pool store, shocking weekly is not needed. What is the smart way to handle when we have many people in the pool on a weekend? What is the best way to handle if we have a...

Taylor 2006c — Amazon vs Site

I was looking at the Taylor 2006c. On Amazon I see $127, but on their actual website I see $225. Is there a difference in products?

    Better Salt Water Test?

What is the better Salt Water tester? I looked on Amazon with Taylor and also on the TFTestkits and saw many different options. I already own the TFT-Pro test kit and just need to purchase the salt test. Also hoping to combine it so it's all in one test "kit".

    Lost data from last year

This is only my second year using “Pool Math” and I paid for it. When I went to enter my data to start this season, it had me create a new pool. I also had to “restore” my purchase from last year and could not find any data from last year. I did switch over to a SWG, but I don’t think that...

Switching from Chlorine to Mineral Springs or Salt

I am thinking of switching from a chlorine pool and getting a mineral springs pool or salt. My local pool store, and some very early Googling, has sold me on the Mineral Springs. I wasn’t able to find as much information on mineral springs on TFP, and am curious the general consensus of it...

    Too High Chlorine?

New pool owner and trying to gather as much advice as possible. My pool store sticks to the 1-4 level for chlorine. The owner even said the lower I can have it the better and he would not go above four. Right now, i am using tabs (I understand the negatives of them). My FC levels the last...

    TFP Chemistry Recommendation

Moved from here. My local pool store said to keep my chlorine level between 2 and 4 and the lower the better. I read online the same thing. I’m new to pool ownership, so totally curious why TFP recommends 5-9? I recently did a test with the TF-Pro and my FC was 4.5.

Comparative Test in the TF-Pro Kit Question

I tested my chlorine (FC) and pH using the comparative tester but had the hardest time telling the difference in the colors. I tested my chlorine using the powder and smart stirrer and that was much easier. 9 drops so my FC, I assume, is a 4.5? I’d like to be able to use the comparative...

Taylor K2006 vs. TFT Pro Kit

I recently ordered the TFT Pro Kit, but just curious about the biggest differences between the two, and is the TFT Pro Kit the better and easier kit to use to test pool water? Currently, I am using test strips, but they are difficult to read, and am looking for more accurate results. I am only...

Using Pool Math with BioGuard Products

My local pool store sells BioGuard products, so for now, that’s what I am using. I tried using the Pool Math app, but for something like Ph level, the amount of Ph Raiser I need to use is way off from what my water sample showed. I was at 7.2 and wanted to raise it to 7.6. The water sample...
