No Power or Generating Light on AquaRite

Good luck. Clearly looks like the thermistor is bad. Luckily it is not expensive to fix. Crazy though how expensive those control boards are if one needs to actually fully replace it.

No Power or Generating Light on AquaRite

Thanks, looks like its working. I was able to confirm chlorine with a test strip. It's also generating quite a number of bubbles at the jets, seems a bit much actually. Dialing the machine down to 60P for now.

No Power or Generating Light on AquaRite

I finally got around to replace the Thermistor. Took a long time but had to first fix the filter pump control board (different story). Now getting both the power and generating lights lighting up in bright green. I think I remember those lights being dimmer previously, perhaps a sign of the old...

Major leak- losing 1” per hour

Were you able to close the main drain? Perhaps there is some way to improvise it if its not accessible enough yet to unscrew the cover. Could try covering it up, maybe with an inverted bucket weighted down by the hand weight. Just making something up as an interested reader, have never tried...

    Heater Choices for NY Area

My regular pool guy who helps with opening and closing says he can do the install, but not sure about license requirements with respect to the gas and electric hookup, even though it's not really adding anything new, just replacing an old heater.

    Heater Choices for NY Area

Moved from HERE I'm in the market for a new natural gas heater too. For a heater being placed outside during the NY frequent rain and winter season, is there anything special to look out for with respect to resistance to the weather and rust? To conserve money, thinking of downsizing to just...

Muriatic Acid scares the bejeezes out of me.

I typically go through a bottle or two of acid over a summer season, just getting the box with 2 bottles from the pool shop, adding something probably once every 2 weeks when noticing the ph is too far out of range. Usually I add quite a bit and overshoot the other way. Haven't had any problems.

Muriatic Acid scares the bejeezes out of me.

I use the same method. Holding breath and positioning yourself upwind, wearing goggles and gloves. Hold and dip the bottle into the pool so that it’s top is already pretty much at water level and let the acid just flow out directly into the pool by tilting the bottle without creating splashed...

Suggestions for an automatic pool cover vs pool enclosure, costs/choices

In my case leafs falling onto the cover would tend to be moist so just using a blower did not work well and I tended to use a broom. Having small kids is definitely a strong argument for getting the cover installed. We also have a pool guard water alarm sensor that can be placed on the side of...

Suggestions for an automatic pool cover vs pool enclosure, costs/choices

I also have an automatic pool cover, I think it’s a coverstar too. The upside is it’s really cool to operate and look at, also it adds safety in case one has a family with young kids. The downside is that it needs maintenance. Mine actually started to become less smooth in opening and closing...

Lightning Strike knocks out pool equipment + more inside

I have a similar old board, actually also having trouble with it, so took it out and just shipped to for repairs to "BPEngineering" that was recommended elsewhere on this forum. Will report back how it worked out. BTW, my board has another small external low-voltage-surge-protection board wired...

Lightning Strike knocks out pool equipment + more inside

Interesting, has anyone had success with home insurance for this sort of case? With old equipment like that it might be difficult to argue that the failure is due to a lightening strike compare to a normal end of expected service time.

Automation: what input voltage and current to drive JANDY relay?

Exactly, that's what I was looking for, thanks. By the way, did you find a plug that matches the one that's attached to the relay or did you end up cutting it off? Looks like it might fit one of those JST XH2.54 connectors.

Automation: what input voltage and current to drive JANDY relay?

That times looks pretty cool for just $50, considering what the JANDY system costs. However right now I'm not looking to directly work on the high voltage load that goes to the pump or modify anything on the 120V side of the breaker, just looking to control the low voltage side that goes to...

Automation: what input voltage and current to drive JANDY relay?

I'm looking to (temporary) add an external switch to my JANDY filter pump relay while the main control board is out for repairs in order to be able to run the pump manually. Perhaps even running it through another remote relay, like those made for garage door openers. Of really get fancy making...

No Power or Generating Light on AquaRite

Thanks for taking a close look, I missed that detail. Looks like there is a way to make sure and measure the voltage between the Thermistor and the black terminal according to: Hayward Aquarite SWG - Further Reading Might try that, but won't hurt to order the part anyways. Thinking to rather...

    Jandy 6700 Rev C Error

Took it apart again and took the fuse out to test it and make sure, the fuse has good connectivity. Switching external power on and off from the breaker it sometimes comes on with the the auto LED showing, other times I get all LEDs on or the rotating LED pattern. Tried also disconnecting the...

    Jandy 6700 Rev C Error

Was about to take it apart to check out the fuse when it started to work again in service mode. So I added some chlorine to the pool and ran the filter pump while it was working. Now, after a couple hours the pump stopped running by itself and the main board is back to the all lights on running...

No Power or Generating Light on AquaRite

Upon starting the filter pump the SWG gets power and the "No Flow" LED blinks for a few seconds. However other LEDs stay dark, including power and generating. Cycling through diagnostics gives: 76 (Water Temperature ?) 5.0 (Cell Voltage ?) 0.00 (Cell Amps) 89P (Dial) - 0 ( Salt Reading) AL -5...

    Jandy 6700 Rev C Error

Thanks. I had tried removing both the 4 wire and 6 wire connectors, but not change, other that the in-house control lost power (as expected). It looks like the 6 wire connector from the power control board is connected to the surge protection board, but then there is no further outgoing wire...

    Jandy 6700 Rev C Error

I also removed the 9V backup battery that was totally deteriorated and actually falling apart, had to cut that wire off, assuming that’s not going to make an impact.
