    Need some help...

Also, the procedure for mustard algae states that, once you pass the 3 tests for SLAM you need to raise FC to mustard algae level for an ADDITIONAL 24 hours.

    1st Time Slammer!

Also, if you use only bleach to add FC, your CYA number shouldn't change unless you are back washing a lot or getting a lot of splash out. Keep dosing for a CYA of 75 ppm.

    CYA Test Differences

You could ask your pool person if she can get some R-7065 CYA Standard Solution. Or order some from tftestkits.net This standard should read 50 ppm CYA with whatever tester you use. If you do, please let us know what you find!

Life Spa Pump problem troubleshoot question

That would be my guess after sitting so long. Could also just be the caps, but i wouldn't expect the motor to spin with them disconnected. The motor is totally enclosed, so to check if it's siezed, you're going to have to drain it, then unscrew the couplings at the suction and discharge of the...

Would a broken ring around my return jet cause - a leak?? UPDATED / HELP PLEASE!!

You said returns were blown out and plugged over the winter, but the return plate broke over the winter? Did the lines have antifreeze in them? My plugs have an o-ring that seals against that plate. If a plate were to break, and fall out of place, water could leak into the return piping...

    Mustard Algae not going away?

Also, just to clarify something: If you did have mustard algae, the correct way to deal with it is to FIRST raise to SLAM level till you pass the three tests THEN raise FC to mustard level for additional 24 hours.

Newbie here! Really need simplified help! Cloudy pool.

You can do all of the re-tests now with the exception of pH. pH will not be accurate until FC is below 10 ppm. In post #81 you also said your water is clear, so you can also swim!!! while your FC is drifting down from SLAM!!! Post a pic!!! We all want to see it!!!

It's working, you just have less dead algae in the pool to clear out, so the pressure is going to climb slower. You can speed things up by adding a little more DE. Just make sure that you are going to be around to watch the pressure!

I doubt there is a tear, you would probably be losing water if there were. I saw earlier that you purchased a vacuum hose but it didn't fit in the skimmer using the vacuum plate. Will the hose fit directly into the hole at the bottom of the skimmer? If it does, sink your vacuum head, or just...

it seems to me like there are a ton of issues with CYA

Wayner, do you have an auto fill option on your pool? If you have a leak and the auto fill was adding a lot of make up, CYA would constantly drop.

    Unboxed Liner Shelf Life

You might consider putting the liner in a lidded container. Maybe a garbage can if it will fit. I've read that rodents like to chew into stored liners.

Help! I can not clear up pool water

Yes, what frog said. Use a 10 ml sample and 1 scoop of R-0870. As long as there are a couple of undissolved crystals of R-0870, you are good. Multiply drops by .5 for your results.
