    Stains or something more sinister?

I'm going to take a stab at this and say it looks like scaling. I can't help you but wanted to see if I was right. These guys should be able to help you out with this regardless though, keep at it. :)

    Rope Light for AGP

So what your saying is that this is a bad idea.   (I'm sure most of us have seen this but a shake my head every time I see it)

Keep Nature 2 Chlorinating System if we use BBB?

I think ,most would tell you to leave the nature 2 out (could off load it on craigslist). You could probably use the tablets for the remainder of season since you're in Illinois and will likely close before CYA would be an issue. Of course that depends on if the tablets you have are stabilized...

Fudgebar's pool build- have a lot of questions...

Re: I just recieved a FIBERGLASS POOL Quote...Can you Help? Just to be clear, there was a link on your other thread to a bunch of different stair styles. I wasn't sure you noticed the color choices at the top of that link. Is it the white that bothers you or just the over all stair style...

Is this normal? (walls of oval pool not straight)

I'll see your curvy wall and raise you an unlevel one. I can thank the previous home owner for this. Some people should not do ANY DIY. :hammer: And to top it off, the liner is so wrinkled, it collects dirt and stuff. Will be glad when the liner fails and I can re-set the pool.

3 pool companies are stumped - can you help?

You should hit it tonight. The pool calculator says 3 gallons of 12% will get your pool to a shock level of 20 (for a CYA of 50). I would say something used up all that chlorine in 6.5 hours and it probably wasn't the sun with your CYA at 50-55.

    Intex SWG Hoses

So you want one of these... http://www.intexstore.com/ProductDetail ... parts=list You'll notice they're out of stock  which is what I discovered not two weeks ago when my Intex hose decided to start leaking. Since you can't order one, I made on out of ABS. I used a 1.5" FPT-1.5" Slip...

Will it float? Floating liner answers needed ASAP

The builder putting the inground in next door to us has encased the flex pvc in the concrete footer as well as back filled with the clay from the hole (and let me tell you about the concrete style clay we have around here....). Some stone on top with a tamper and they'll be pouring the deck in...

    draining water.

On one of the build threads, I believe from Texas, the installer used an intex style pool to start running the hose when they first put the shovels in the ground. The result was that by the time they had the pool installed, they had this temp pool already full of water and just pumped the water...

First time closing pool (Ontario, Canada)

Pool to shock level a couple hours/night before closing (no Algaecide). Vacuum to waste. I drain the pool down with the vacuum still attached, about 3" below return. I need to remember to remove the skimmer basket next year so I don't have to re-set due to sucking air. :-D I leave the drain...

Pics of the pool with a happy 3 year old

Just some random shots of a very happy 3 year old in 'her' pool, complete with 'ghetto' slide shots. My wife managed to get what I think is an incredible shot of Nicole between the top rail and the solar cover, but then I'm slightly biased. :-D Clickable thumbnails:

brand new pool owner with a swamp in the backyard

General related question. It PH 8.2 enough to have copper precipitate out of suspension or does it need to be higher? After reading a couple posts about copper(most/all algaecides), it certainly seems like the PH may have caused your problems. It also would stand to reason that the previous...

    Help with testing water

You can also order individual tests if you wanted to try it out first. Lots of options. The full kit is still the best bang for the buck though. I've gotten two seasons out of my kit (june-september) and could probably get through half of next but I'll probably order refills in the spring...

    Intex SWG

My intex runs for anywhere from 2-3 hours in a 7500 gallon pool. Just wrapping up my second season with it, problem free to this point (knock on wood). Mike is right, frequent power flickers would drive you nuts remembering to re-program.

How can I have algae w/these test results?

Just to make sure, you have scrubed the solar cover during treatments (most of us 'assume' you have)? You mentioned the ladder etc. but not the solar cover.

    Buying a used AGP

I'm not sure putting the deck move on youtube, or the net at all would be a good idea considering the 'legality' of moving something 10' wide down the road without the proper permits. Just saying.......
