    New Liner Install

Thanks for the suggestions. I used a shop vac and it worked great to smooth the wrinkles. Filled about 6 inches of water before turning off the vac and continued to fill overnight. No wrinkles and the new liner looks great.

    New Liner Install

I'll be installing a new liner later today. I plan to start about 2:00 pm. Is it ok to fill overnight. Here in Texas temps will be in the mid 90's for the high and mid 70's at night. This is the first time I've replaced the liner, is there anything I should be concerned about with this replacement?

    Rain does affect pool chemistry

I'm so happy to see some sun on the way to North Texas. My FC and pH levels have been holding well and pool is still clear despite draining several inches 4 or 5 times over the last couple of weeks. I'll be checking everything and adjusting tomorrow when the sun arrives.

    Super Concentrated Clarifier

My results from last nights test seem to be tainted. At 9:30 pm I added chlorine to bring the FC level up to 16ppm. I tested at 10:30 pm and the result was 15.5 ppm FC. This morning at 6:15 am FC was at 16.5 and CC was at or less than 0.5. I will conduct another OCLT tonight, meanwhile I will...

    Super Concentrated Clarifier

SLAM was in progress until 5-13-15. Then the water was clear, OCLT resulted in FC loss of less than 0.5 and CC was at or less than 0.5 The results were the same on 5-16-15. I added chlorine today to bring the FC level up to 16ppm and will re-test tonight and in the morning for OCLT. I will post...

    Super Concentrated Clarifier

Current Levels 10:00pm FC 5 CC less than 0.5 pH 7.6 TC 100 CYA 40 CH 100 The water is quite a bit better. Clear but not crystal clear. Now that I can see the bottom better, I am noticing that there is something that resembles filter sand gathering in the bottom of the pool a within few hours...

Had lots of leaves on bottom

Update: Water is clear! Current Levels: FC 3 CC is less than .5 PH 7.6 TA 100 CYA 40 CH 100 I am noticing what appears to be filter sand gathering in crevices on the bottom of the pool within a few hours after vacuuming. What causes that? Is there a solution? Also, How long should I run the...

    Super Concentrated Clarifier

Yes, still following SLAM, it's going good, the water is clear but slightly dingy. I've seen great progress in the last few days. Chlorinating using 30 ppm CYA level.

    Super Concentrated Clarifier

4 weeks ago I started adding chlorine because it was green with leaves on the bottom and had mosquito larvae in it. I started SLAM 2 weeks ago because the water was still murky. I have kept the FC up since then. It is much better now, I can see the bottom well but it is still not crystal clear...

    Super Concentrated Clarifier

My parents gave me a bottle of hth super concentrated clarifier; active ingredient: cationic polymer. My water is a little cloudy. What does this stuff do, and is it ok to use. The bottle advertises improved filter efficiency and crystal clear water. Current levels: FC 9 pH 7.2 TA 100 CYA 20

Had lots of leaves on bottom

At what point should I bring CYA up to the recommended level? I really can't tell what my CYA level is, the black dot doesn't disappear on the Taylor 2006 test. Will bringing it up slow my chlorine loss? I am currently losing 7-10 ppm daily, depending on sunlight.

    Leak in the liner

Thanks for the tips! I saw a video that recommended using a piece of liner for the patch and not the patch kit material, what do ya think?

I have leak in the liner. I'm not sure where because I can't see the bottom. Lost about 1/2" of water overnight. I can see a stream water coming out at the low point in the pool. What should I do to repair it?

Had lots of leaves on bottom

I started SLAM last Saturday 4-25-15 and one week after SLAM began, pool is still quite cloudy. I kept the SLAM levels up all day Saturday, and thru the week and brushed all but three days this. I vacuumed two of the three days I didn't brush. I'm adding 3 to 4 bottles 8.25% bleach daily to keep...

Had lots of leaves on bottom

Thanks, I'll add chlorine morning and night. I added Borax to bring up the PH, should I add CYA or just wait until the water is clear? P.S. sorry about the hijack, I wasn't sure of the protocol.

Had lots of leaves on bottom

Re: Help with SLAMing - pool is a swamp The black dot on CYA test disappears between 20 and 30. I'm guessing it's about 25. I'm chlorinating based on 30. I am loosing about 6 ppm chlorine daily. I bring it up to 16 ppm in the evening and by the next evening it is at 10ppm. I am unable to test...
