    My Used Dolphin Premier

My brother bought the Aiper Seagull Pro cordless and gave me his old Dolphin Premier. The Dolphin still does a great job. Our pool is a big rectangle with a 2nd step baja to one side and hidden stairs. The Dolphin manages to get to everything. We had pretty big thunderstorms in the desert...

    IntellipH Needed a Rebuild.

While it is normally the Pump head that needs replacing, my pump motor went out. When I opened up the housing it was a rusted mess. Thankfully I was able to order the entire assembly, and got it in a few days.

    Heat Pump Victory

We always like to accelerate the warm up at this time of year with our Pentair 120K BTU Heat Pump. Last year we did not run it at all. We started the heater a week ago, and although the fan ran, the compressor did not start. Pentair is way behind on everything, so I pulled the manual and...

    Dialed In

Although our pool is technically open year round, we only fire up the heater to get the season going, or extend the season a little. We have been in the mid 80s water temp lately.

    So far so good!

Our startup (Acid Style) went very well. Lots of MA for the first couple of weeks, but surprisingly little quartz dust. Put 480 lbs of salt in after two weeks, and turned on SWCG and pH Pump. I will spend a couple of weeks fine tuning the numbers, and chipping away at my TA with manual MA...

    Fun With Automation

Although this is our third pool, it is our first with any significant automation. Our last pool had a Pentair VSP, so we did learn the joys of managing schedules, speeds etc. The new pool has all Pentair equipment with EasyTouch automation. Not only can I see/control everything from my iPhone...

    We have a pool!

This is kind of a re-introduction of sorts, as I am a Lifetime Site Member, and on my third pool. After 105 days since contract signing, we finally got to swim in our new pool last evening. Readings are as follows: FC = 3.5 CC = 0 pH = 7.2 (Acid Startup on Wednesday) TA = 90 CH = 150 CYA = 70...

Starting construction on our 3rd Shasta Pool! Sold our old house to my Brother, and bought another house. Huge yard but no swimming pool. So far there are just a bunch of lines in the dirt. 19000 Gallons Modified L, with the L being a big 2nd Step Baja Deck Jets Dual Skimmer LED Lights (Main...

    CH Question

We had our pool resurfaced three years ago. Since then, CH has been on the rise due to our hard water here in the desert. We did a water change this week, of about 85% of the water. CH is currently sitting at 160, with a Salt Water Pool target of 250. I hate to add Calcium, as the CH will...

    Just One Cup!

Bought a bag of ZeoFiber and added a cup to my Sand Filter yesterday. Wow! This morning it looked like somebody stole all the water from my pool. It really seems to have added a new level of clarity.

    Pool Project Phase II

We did the Mini Pebble resurface and Salt conversion two years ago. Next week it will be a Variable Speed Pump, Control Upgrade, New Power Subpanel and a Heater/Cooler. The variable speed pump will save us some money on our electric bill, but also will allow us to get the most out of our...

    Tis The Season

It beginning to feel like swim season again. Water temps have creeped into the 70s. The pool is sparkling and ready. This will be our second season with the SWG. It shut itself off when the water temp got below 62, but we never had to add chlorine. It kicked right back in when the water...

    Thanks For All The Help

We had our pool remodeled during most of May. We paid for startup balancing, which wound up being the pool guy throwing conditioner in the skimmer, and shock in the pool. They did come back three weeks later to add the salt and start up the SWCG. I have since been borrowing my parents (same...

    Hello All

Great site. My wife and I live in Orange County CA, and have a second home in Sun City West AZ. The AZ house has a 96 foot perimeter play pool, built in 1983. It is in pretty good shape overall, with a recently replaced Sand Filter, Pop Up cleaning etc. Plaster is at the end of its life, so we...
