In addition to my SWG cell I also add bleach everyday. This way I can run the cell fewer hours and still maintain the chlorine ppm I need. If I need to shock I always use bleach too.

I've though about building a little cover over the pool and cleaner pumps as they are in the sun most of the day. I wonder how many people have done this?

I just ordered a 399K BTU Raypak 406A cupronickel natural gas heater to replace my 13 year old Laars 400 LT that had seen better days. This forum is what helped me make my decision to go with the Raypak and not Hayward.

I replaced mine after 10 years. Comparing the old hose to the new one was like day and night. The new hose is much more flexible. My cleaner now covers the entire pool where before it did not.

I went ahead and ordered a Polaris G5 feed hose assembly and a Polaris pool cleaner sweep hose. I'll let everyone know if and how they work when they arrive. They are quite a bit less costly than the Pentair products.

We live in the Houston area and have been using bleach along with our SWG for the past three years. Since then our pool has been crystal clear. Bottom line is it works. It also makes it easier to maintain your pool and costs less than all the chemicals the pool supply stores try and sell you.

On my salt water pool my ppm of salt seems to increase as the temperature drops. I read the salt ppm from my panel. it went from 3100 ppm to 3300 ppm in the last couple of weeks as the water temp has dropped from the low 70's to the mid 50's.
