Concrete deck orange spots is this normal?

I have the same spots and hoping power washing will take care of it.

Hayward Heater Smoking and Smelling, but working..

I leave mine uncovered over the winter. Moisture will build up under a cover even in cold weather.

Hayward Heater Smoking and Smelling, but working..

Tarping your heater traps moisture and most likely contributed to the corrosion.

    Filling with cover still on

The only down side to filling with the cover still on, is that the rainwater on top of the cover will not settle in the middle to be pumped off. The rainwater will be spread out on top of the cover. Removing a cover with dirty rainwater is not something anyone wants to do for fear of spilling it...

    Aquapure 1400 Code 120

How old is the cell? How are you testing the salt level(just relying on the display?)? Have you cleaned the flow sensor?

    Unsure about my salt testing

I don't understand why someone in Canada can't find a salt test, IN CANADA. Doesn't the country of Canada need to test salt levels? Maybe it is cheaper for you to send a sample of your water to someone in the US to test the salt.

    Unsure about my salt testing

You need the K-1766 Salt Test from Taylor. It is the only one I trust. I actually recalibrate my SWCG to match that salt test. It's probably the most expensive test, but it's worth it to me.

    Pool cover anchor question

They will "blacken" over time. They are made of brass to hold up to the weather. You'll get used to them and eventually will blend in.

    Aquapure 1400 Error

6 seasons is a win for you:party:!! Consider yourself lucky and that the cell is a consumable and will always need to be replaced in the future.

    Ph question

Call it 7.2 and do some skipping around your pool!! You're lucky! I would love to have that color on my Ph. I'm constantly dealing with purple at 8.2

Aren't pools always green when they are opened?

I also believe that a solid cover is the key. But, it must be properly sealed to the deck or pool so it limits what gets in, whether that be an anchored spring loaded cover or proper water bags .

    Wanted: Dolphin Active30 Weight

Really? a $1.99 part. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Something seems fishy though, in the description it says it weighs 4oz.

    Seauto crab

It is a battery powered robot. Looks like the app will be available sometime in May. In the meantime, let us know how you like it, and what the battery life is like.

    Wanted: Dolphin Active30 Weight

I would contact Maytronics and show them that picture. Hopefully, you registered it, and even though it may be out of warranty, they should make it right and send you a set free. You have me worried now, as I have the same robot about the same age as yours. I guess your anode is not doing its...

    Ciblanc Stirrer eating batteries--fixed

Is it possible you left your stirrer on and didn't realize it? Without the magnetic pill and the light in the off position, you would never know it was spinning.

*Rubber Expansion Plugs Stuck in Jets... Need Some Help!

You have to "wiggle" them out. Don't pull straight out. Try pulling at an angle to release the top of the plug first, then the bottom. Those plugs seem to be in way to far though. I would call the company that closed the pool and have them pull them out. If all else fails, you may have to drill...

    LED Remote Control

Are you sure this is an LED light? I would think LED lights would need to be fully replaced and not just bulbs. Anyhow, when I turn my lights on at the pad with the switch, I can get the color to stay the same. Mine only changes color when I turn it on and off quickly. Are you saying every...

Can we rule out the "ghost" being an actual person messing with your system? A kid or disgruntled neighbor?

Jandy Salt Cell 1400 Code 121

I take mine in for the winter, but I have the Fusion Soft 1400 that is a vessel that holds the cell. I put in a "dummy" cell that is dead to seal the vessel off. You would need a section of PVC to fill in the void left by taking yours out.

The Ghost in the Machine is Back......

Nice. You are at "Hotel Haze" phase of your SLAM. I am a little concerned now about my water. I peeked under the cover a couple weeks ago and it was clear. Might have to open sooner than I usually do(May 1).

The Ghost in the Machine is Back......

Sounds like your season is off to a rocky start. Sorry about that. First your cell error, swamp, and now this. Hope it clears up! How did your Cyclone do clearing out your lines last fall?

Jandy Salt Cell 1400 Code 121

Great observation. Also, the wire connection point as it stands now could allow water to get into the prongs and shorten the life.

    First time opening my pool

You want to make sure ALL plugged pipes are unplugged. Also, if you have Jandy Never Lube Valves, you may have to reinsert the handles partially and get them into the right position. Also, you will have to close the drains on your pump and filters. Check out the opening article above.

    water spray

If you want the spray to go farther, then you should close, or partially close the black ball valve below the sprayer, which is controlling your return. Right now, both are fully open and that is why the spray stream is low.

Clog somewhere in pipes that I cannot loose

What happens when you tried 1,2,3,4 above? Did you feel any water coming out the other end or feel any suction from the shop vac? If yes, then did you try lubing the o-ring under the pump lid with a silicone pool lube?

Warming pool with hot water heater

A solar cover will heat your pool to about 90 degrees in the heat of the summer. It's a pain taking it off and on and where to put it while swimming, though. 24ft round pool, if 52 inches tall, is about 13,000 gallons. You could also look into pool solar panels to run your pool water through.

Thinking of replacing my TF-100 with a TF-Pro, will the Taylor speed stir fit In the pro case? Did you switch and was it worth it?

Since you're buying the new carrier, you might want to get the smaller CYA viewing tube that will fit in the Pro case.

LED Bubbler alternative - Vinyl Liner sun shelf

Can't help with the bubblers, but I would think twice about putting any furniture on the sunshelf with the vinyl liner. You will most likely tear the liner.

Ahhh... the infamous Air Leakage mystery (pic included)

Did you try running hose water over the valve set in the position that creates bubbles with the pump running? If the bubbles stop, you know there is a leak in the valve.
