Multiport Leak - gasket need replacement?

The stem oring is that difficult to replace? In comparsion to the cost differential that is ($7 vs $180)?

Multiport Leak - gasket need replacement?

It looks like only the stem oring is contributing to the leak rather than the spider gasket as i originally thought. Is it worthwhile to do both since I'm opening it up or leave well enough alone and just do the stem?

Thanks, this was helpful. Looks like the handle O-ring (Part JV18) is leaking substantially now so I have to replace that.

Ok great. I misread what you typed earlier to be two seals, I understand what you're saying now. Thanks!

Multiport Leak - gasket need replacement?

Thanks for the quick reply. Do I need to replace both seals? Is it pretty involved or straight forward? Think that is likely the cause of the air getting in? I see no obvious issues elsewhere.

Multiport Leak - gasket need replacement?

Hey all! Pool opened up with minimal fanfare :) There is a leak at the multiport, which aside from losing water/chemicals, I believe is letting air into the system causing the pump to deprime after it stops running. Is this a simple case of having to replace a gasket or something else?

SLAMing the swamp after cover failure. Backwash or breakdown DE Filter to clean?

I opted to break down the filter for a full clean since that was quicker and easier with a second set of hands, plus it did a more thorough job. For this first night, do you think its better to leave it on filter or recirculate? If the pressure hasn't risen too much, I'll leave it on filter...

SLAMing the swamp after cover failure. Backwash or breakdown DE Filter to clean?

Hey all. Opened the pool today to a swamp after a cover failure during the winter. SLAM is in progress. We have a Pentair Quad 100 DE filter. Usually it lasts all summer without rising 10 PSI. It has gone up 12 PSI over starting within a few hours due to all the gunk in the pool. Is it...

    Main drain leak?

It ended up being a multi port issue. The inner diverter portion was stuck on waste despite the handle being set to filter. Reseated the the handle and it corrected the issue ?

CYA levels down to zero at every opening

I do replace some water every year but not usually more than 20% so I feel like there would still be some cya but it never shows up. Idk, just one of those things I guess. Any thoughts to diluting the 5 gallons of muriatic in 10 gallons of water to create a longer run time on the stenner?

The pump would be running during dosing.

CYA levels down to zero at every opening

As the title states, every year when I open the pool, the cya levels read zero. What is happening to it? Is this normal during the off season while it's closed? Secondly, the ph always rises really high in the off season and it's causing the plaster to get rough. Is there any way to prevent...

Stenner liquid chlorine pump - How to choose and install

Has anybody used a stenner to pump a diluted acid solution into the pool to eliminate dosing by hand?

    Main drain leak?

Hey all, Went to open the pool today. Had everything set and ready to go. Got the pump started, added de and saw some blowback into the pool. Nothing crazy but a bit more than usual and the pressure gauge on the filter was only showing about 7 psi when it normally operates at 15-18 psi...

    Stenner Service Life?

Sorry for the delay in responding everyone. I was busy with a few things. As it turns out the issue was with the electrical connection not putting out the proper power. It was addressed and the Stenner is working perfectly. Still just as happy with it as the day I installed it. Quality...

    Stenner not pumping cholrine

Hey all, My stenner is not pumping chlorine from the 15 gal container it is supplied from. There are no leaks in the tubing I can see and the pump appears to be functioning normally. Only thing I can think of is air is entering the system somewhere but I don't really know. The system...

hand pump to transfer chlorine from 5 gal. carboy to 15 gal container

I'm looking for suggestions on making the transfer of chlorine from the 5 gal. carboy to the 15 gallon container for the stenner pump. Leak - How hard to fix? Pics inside

Have a leak from the top of the pump. Pictures attached. Not sure how much of a pain this is going to be to fix. The top of the pump is a threaded connection; however the valve is a slip connection. Will the tan piece just unscrew to release itself from the valve and let me remove/readjust...

    Pricing and Sourcing CYA

When I first started out I asked the same question and I believe the response was as long as it is stored in an appropriate place it will last without issue. I cannot confirm but that is what I remember.

    Pricing and Sourcing CYA

Buying in bulk generally always lowers the cost of the goods being purchased. Just because you buy 25 lbs doesn't mean you can't save it for next season :D My pool always seems to need CYA every opening. Thats where I found the listing for $68. For some reason the other result didn't show...

Think I want a Stenner but which one?

literally just finished my install. Do to a snafu with the company I ordered the pump from I ended up with the 85MHP5 which is a 5 GPD max. The gearing 45vs85 and internal tube are what regulate the max per day rate. either way, seems like you cant go wrong with this setup.
