27.3 volts, but unit “passed” on the tester. Aqua rite t9

Got it, trying to think of two new ways…pool store is one, what is a second way to test beyond the Taylor kit?

27.3 volts, but unit “passed” on the tester. Aqua rite t9

Good thought because that would definitely affect its readings. unfortunately correctly set to t9. Thanks for the suggestion!

27.3 volts, but unit “passed” on the tester. Aqua rite t9

Thanks for the reply! Yes, correct, I used a k-1766 kit to check actuals. Color change at 16 drops, full brick at 17.

27.3 volts, but unit “passed” on the tester. Aqua rite t9

As a note, I forgot to mention I have read through the further reading, and have calibrated the unit. I keep landing at “the cell is dead”, but the passing result and the young age of the cell is confusing me.

27.3 volts, but unit “passed” on the tester. Aqua rite t9

Hello! My aqua rite SWG is around 20 months old. Within the last 30 days, the salt reading has started to show artificially low on the SWG. I cleaned the unit (diluted acid bath), with no change in behavior. So I took it to a pool shop and they tested it on a Hayward tester unit, and it...

Can you plug a 12v light into any 12v transformers?

Super helpful, thank you all! I didn’t realize it was such a specific code/requirement/whatever area. Will get a pool specific transformer.

Reduce % output or pump time?

Hello! when should I reduce the % of the swcg and when should I reduce the run time? 10k gallon pool, Hayward T9 at 30%. My pump settings are roughly: 800rpm for 4 hours (~20gpm, so minimum for the swcg to work) 2500rpm for 2 hours to skim 800rpm for 6 hours With this, I’m finding I have...

Pool floor has started to crack, what do I do now?

Did I cause this? Anything I could have done differently? Or did the last owner just hire a cheap contractor who did a poor job?

Pool floor has started to crack, what do I do now?

Will do, any short term bandaids? Do I need to bring my CH up? (Read somewhere that saturating the pool with calcium can slow the damage?

Pool floor has started to crack, what do I do now?

I don’t know, (was done by the previous owner who was an investor shortly before putting the house up for sale…based on other repairs i know about, he was incredibly cheap, would only fix bare minimum and wouldn’t hire the best people) but I believe skim coat, and the primary reason i believe...

Pool floor has started to crack, what do I do now?

Last question… I appreciate the help! I did find some things that look like calcium nodules….do you feel this could be related and I should begin looking for delimitation? either way, won’t panic yet, will just keep an eye for changes.

Pool floor has started to crack, what do I do now?

Good to know. I do have two large palm trees (20 feet tall, 12 inch diameter) within 10 feet of this shallow end of the pool. Possible root damage?

Pool floor has started to crack, what do I do now?

Old 1960s pool, was refinished before I bought the house 3 years ago. We have been having trouble with this particular spot and staining. It often was visibly dirty, sometimes could be brushed away, sometimes couldn’t. recently put in all new equipment and a SWCG which has helped keep the...

Auto vacuum strains motor, when should I be concerned?

Yeah, makes sense. The vac line is 1.5 inch instead of 2. So I’ll just have to run without the mx8 being able to climb walls. That’s okay.

Auto vacuum strains motor, when should I be concerned?

Thanks for the help! The pipe in the water is my only vacuum line. There usually is a lillypad skimmer on top of it. The starvation seems to happen if I turn either the main drain or the vac line fully off.

Auto vacuum strains motor, when should I be concerned?

I have a weird 10k gallon pool...it only has a main drain and 1 suction inlet, no skimmer and 1 line coming back into the pool. The pump is a 1.5 hp jacuzzi going into a 75 gallon jacuzzi filter. The vacuum is a mx8 elite. When setting the mx8 up the way the instructions recommend (10 wheel...

Black dirt like growth? Persistent but easy to disperse

Sorry I didn’t see the reply notification. It’s coming back, but appears to be less. I’m a week in at plus 16 (usually mid 20s) and it seems to stick around. I don’t have a vac to waste valve, but I’ve been cleaning the filter after each vacuum. Definitely irritating stuff.
