    Dolphin Dynamic Joystick Not Working

My 2007 Dolphin Dynamic has worked perfectly for all these years, (guess I should be grateful) but now it remains on auto when in joystick mode. Typically it would stop and only move by joystick unless motionless for a few minutes, then would revert back to auto. Now it just keeps on going...

    Walmart Bleach

Was buying Clorox 8.25 percent bleach at Sams before they added the extra ingredient and called it "Performance Bleach with Cloromax". Then started using Walmart or others to get the 8.25 percent, which, when it was introduced, was labeled "regular concentrated". There was a big promotion by...

Clorox Changed Percentage of Bleach... Again!

Thanks all for your comments, much appreciated! Will not be using Clorox anything. Clorox specifically states that Performance bleach has 8.25%, Regular Bleach 6%. The box with Cloromax continues to show bottles on the carton that says Performance Bleach as well as on the bottles themselves. My...

Clorox Changed Percentage of Bleach... Again!

I've been using bleach successfully since renovating our pool 10 years ago. I've been buying it at Sam Club, 3 bottles in a convenient to carry and store box. Initially the 1 1/2 gallon bottles were 6% sodium hypochlorite, then one day they had changed to smaller bottles, 2.83 gallons, but had...

Jandy LT pool heater will not heat above 85 degrees???

Thank You... all of those things have been checked, they even switched the pool and spa units on the heater to see if it was a bad spa temp controller. I'm still thinking it's a problem with the high pressure switch, but it looks like I'm heading for a new board, if that fixes it, great; if not...

Jandy LT pool heater will not heat above 85 degrees???

We recently had our no longer repairable Polaris Command Center replaced with the Pentair automated system, except for the new lights, all other components are Jandy. Prior to the conversion our heater worked perfectly; now, it will not heat the spa above 85 degrees. On occasion it has for no...

Junction box for spa light requirements.

Our pool was remodeled in 2007. When they put in the electrical for the spa light, they did not use a junction box, as the old spa had, but ran conduit a long twisting route from spa to controller. We had to replace the Polaris EOS Command Center and thought while we were at it we'd upgrade the...

    Polaris EOS Command Center

Thanks for the reply! We decided on the Pentair System... and the Jandy light works. Not as easy to change color nor as many color options as the Pentair light, but it works the same as it did with the Polaris eos, using a sequence of on - off to change color. It's ok, but a pain in the butt...

How do you keep the robot from staying in the deep end?

We have the same problem... I've found by switching the ballast far right, then the next time far left, that helps some. Also if it becomes heavy from debris it's prone to stay in the deep end. Our Dolphin is 9 years old, have never thought about replacing tracks or brushes. It's had this...

    Polaris EOS Command Center

Our pool was renovated eight years ago and we had the Polaris EOS Command Center installed. It's had a few glitches over the years, but now the control pad has gone black, dead! The people that installed it says its obsolete and parts are unavailable... True or False? They also say the Jandy...

Polaris EOS... GHOSTS in the machine???

My Polaris EOS system suddenly has a mind of it's own, with the shortcut control taking over and randomly turning spa, heater, etc on and off, even when everything is shut down. Cannot stop it without shutting off the power. Any ideas... or at least a way to disable the shortcut until I can...

    Replacing Spa Lamp

Thank You... That's a better solution than draining outside the pool. He was going to bring a sump pump and drain the spa onto the lawn. Plus charge me $125.00. I thought kinda high for replacing a bulb.

    Replacing Spa Lamp

A lightning strike knocked a relay out of our Polaris Command Center. Everything still worked except the pool and spa lights, which could not be turned off. Had to unplug the relay to turn them off. Service tech repaired today but spa light won't come on. He figures the lamps out. He want's to...

    robot cleaners

Hi Phil I had my pool remodeled last season and wanted to add a better cleaner. Have used the polaris for years, but like you say, it leaves a lot of small stuff, which is going into the filter one way or another (don't you just love to vacuum) Shelled out the bigger bucks for the Dolphin...

    removing dust from pool

I switched from a polaris to a dolphin robotic last year. It's amazing how it will remove dust and dirt. No more need for vacuuming... keeps it out of the filter too, so it saves on backwashing. They're are bit pricey, but well worth it.

    Who's here this season?

Hello Waste... still keeping tabs on the posts. I've learned so much here. I drop by at least three to four times a week. Like dawndenise above, I'm in North Central Texas, and able to keep the pool open year round. Too cold to swim, but the hot tub is great. This is my first year on the BBB...

will any other cleaner work as well as suction w/o a drain?

We've been using the Dolphin Dynamic Robotic since mid July and I LOVE IT. On average, I run it about once a week, along with brushing a portion of the pool every day. It cleans all the fine debris without stirring it up. Most of the cleaners that run off booster pumps do a good job when used...

At what temp will water begin to freeze damage plumbing ?

Thanks Mark, I appreciate the info. I knew duration had a lot to do with it, and we will likely drop to 30 to 32 degrees for a few hours quite often. Those are the times I was hoping I could leave the freeze guard off. The bucket of water by the pad is a good idea. I'll do that every time temps...

At what temp will water begin to freeze damage plumbing ?

This is the first winter with our newly renovated pool. It has the Polaris EOS Command Center with the freeze guard set to come on at 36 degrees air temp. or 34 degrees water temp. When the freeze guard activates it turns the pool and booster pump on for 15 minutes, then shuts down, turns the...

New Concrete Deck Cracking - Is this Normal?

Thanks again for everyones help. txborn, we're fairly close to you. I'm in SW Fort Worth close to Hulen Mall. I asked about the rebar being raised. I was told that they pulled the rebar up as they went along. I watched and they were doing this, not sure if it stayed up in all places. I had a...

New Concrete Deck Cracking - Is this Normal?

Thanks everyone... I sincerely appreciate your help with this. hpdrifter... Thanks for your reply . The soil was in good shape when the concrete was poured. The photo I included of standing water was somewhat misleading. I was trying to show that we may have had enough rain to help settle the...

    1st Reading..*New Numbers

Hi Harry The stabilized trichlor tabs that you are using are a real convenience, but they will raise your CYA levels pretty quickly. My pool was renovated this summer, just about the same time I found this site. I started out using trichlor pucks in my chlorinator to get the CYA up to around 30...

New Concrete Deck Cracking - Is this Normal?

Thanks to everyone for your responses... Duraleigh, all of the cracks run parallel to the expansion joints, actually in them, except for the one. The space between the joints are roughly 7 to 12 feet. The crack that I am most concerned with is the one between the joints. It's in front of the...

New Concrete Deck Cracking - Is this Normal?

We had our pool renovated this summer and the exposed aggregate deck was poured on July 16th. 3/8 rebar was used, and the layout looked good. It's about 4" thick. The expansion joints were tooled rather than using redwood or vinyl strips. Cracks are beginning to show... I quess you would call...

If you were to build another pool...

I need to do some more detailed research on all the equipment. I'd almost rather just buy all the equipment up front myself and having it waiting for the PB. Here...install this stuff... The pool builder bought most, if not all of our equipment through Leslies, and had it delivered to our...

If you were to build another pool...

I would insist that the pool builders itemize the equipment by brand, size etc. Then check out the manufacturers web sites to learn more. It can make a big difference. Confirm any doubts or questions from members of this forum. I've had one pool built, about 13 years ago, and just had another...

"Dry Treat" Natural Stone/ Flagstone Sealant

I'm treating my pool with 6% liquid bleach... the full BBB method. My renovated pool is less than 3 months old, and the flaking seems to be a common factor of the stone, but nothing dramatic. I was told by several folks that I consider reliable to expect some flaking. As far as chipping, I...

    heater: a lot of questions

Hi Poolsean... I think you have me confused with crabboy. I have no knowledge at all of a geothermal heat pump. If it works well and saves $ I would like to hear more about it. Thanks for bringing thermal heat into the thread. Dan

"Dry Treat" Natural Stone/ Flagstone Sealant

I have flagstone coping very similiar to yours. I have been concerned about chipping/flaking, as I've already seen very small flakes coming off. Cracks in a few stones too. My pools was just finished this summer, and we're undecided whether to seal or not. I will be very interested in what you...
