    Warrior SE died what's next

I emailed Marina and they helped me with the paperwork on my claim, so big ups to them for good service even if this bot is not all we'd hoped for. At least I should be able to get it going again for a season or two.

    Warrior SE died what's next

Got it from Marina almost 3 years ago now, so pretty well out of warranty even though it started dying late last summer/fall. Still out of warranty either way. I did email Marina to see if they could help at all. I've contacted Pentair and they've told me I'm pretty much SOL. They gave me a...

    Warrior SE died what's next

I'm going thru the same saga as every Warrior SE owner it seems...died slightly out of warranty and only does the startup self test. Trying to file a claim with my credit card has been a nightmare, as they require a repair estimate and nobody within 100 miles will even look at this piece of...

    Frozen Pool Pics 🥶

Here's me, near the TX/OK border: I built the little igloo over the skimmer, to insulate it a little better. I'm pretty sure I could walk across the iced over portion, but I'm not going to try  The little hut I built over the equipment seems to be working. If the power goes out...

Pipe froze and broke overnight - In Austin, TX

So far so good here in North TX, I think... I build a small shanty over my equipment pad on Saturday, and it's been running the whole time. Most of the pool surface is frozen, but there's a couple foot wide area where the pump is moving enough of the surface to keep it from freezing, so far...

    Trying to find the leak.....

Well...after I refilled, and vacuumed it up much nicer, I put on the mask and snorkel and went exploring, and found two small tears on the floor. I bought a patch kit at the pool store and stuck them over the cuts. Yesterday it rained like mad, so now the pool is full, so I'll keep watch and...

    Trying to find the leak.....

Today's update - same rate of drop, water is now below the eyeballs/vac line so I guess the leak is somewhere below. At this point I'm filling it back up again and get it cleaned up, then I guess I'll have to go snorkeling in there later to look for little tears or such...but at least I know...

    Trying to find the leak.....

Hi again- I have a Vinyl lined inground pool approx 14'x28'x6' at the deepest spot. The liner was replaced about 4 years ago. I'm currently losing 1.5" inches per day, which I calculate out to approx 366 gallons per day. Seems like this should be obvious, but I can't find it.... Funny...

Minmex's pool water restoration & log thereof

Happy times, dumped more water and refilled with help from rain: FC 10.5 CC 0.0 TC 10.5 PH 6.8 TA 50 CYA 70-80 Now to throw in some Baking soda to boost the TA and help get pH back to normal values and I should be good to go. I'll be hooking up a stenner type bleach pump with an automated...

Replace light bulb in inground pool light fixture?

I need to change the bulb in my inground pool light fixture, as it stopped working. (It used to work, so I'm thinking it's just the bulb) I remember when the liner guy was here, he had it apart, and from what I recall, the center section was on a long cord that could be brought above the...

Minmex's pool water restoration & log thereof

Yea I suppose...what's a few more $$ on the water bill :poop:... Do I need to wait a minimum time for the CYA of the old water to mix together with the new water? I've left the pump on this whole time just to help the mixing just in case. It finished filling about 10pm last night and I just...

Minmex's pool water restoration & log thereof

Dumped a lot of the water and refilled last night. Added about 3/4 gallon of 10% bleach. Now I'm at FC 10 CC 0 pH 6.8 or lower CYA 100-120 Now what? Another big dump/refill? I see that CYA should be in the 40-60 range, but what happens if it is at 100, assuming the other numbers are ok...

Minmex's pool water restoration & log thereof

Hi all- I must confess...I got kinda lazy and uninterested in my pool, went to the dark side and used pucks last summer and over the winter. Now it's time to put things proper! Just got my TF100 refill and here's what I just got: FC 7 CC - didn't test pH looks like 6.8, maybe even lower T/A...

    TFP favorite sand filter?

Hello- My approaching 20 year old Hayward S244T sand filter has developed a crack in the top and needs to be replaced asap. 15k vinyl lined inground pool, located in north TX. I leave it open all year w/ freeze protection. Just wondering what the TFP opinion is on a replacement - I know I...

    Frozen Pipes?

Same thing almost happened to me, in the North TX region, but my freeze thermostat didn't work, causing my freeze up. I tented my equipment pad and put a little propane heater inside. Took 3-4 hours of heating and then things thawed out enough to get pumping again. The tent I made was...

Freeze protection not working on Intermatic PF1102T

Same thing happened to me last night. I have the PF1103T version (120v version) of the same control box. The thermstat did not activate, and partly froze up my equipment. Looking on amazon, the thermostat goes for about $50-60. Or you can buy the whole guts of the box for around $110...
