AGP Cover Cable Busted - New Soup Ingredients 😞

Hit it a little harder than "SLAM ideal." Added 2 gallons of 12.5% Sanitizer at around 1:45pm. 4:30pm Cl drop test results showed 16.5ppm FC and possibly 0.5ppm CC (I may have been hallucinating a tinge of red after the 5 drops of R-003). In any event, if the overall effect of adding 2...

AGP Cover Cable Busted - New Soup Ingredients 😞

I thought I remembered the two slates of advice given to me earlier in the thread. I am clearly getting older and would best be served by not relying on what I thought to be a steel trap of a memory. 😞 I kinda got a conflated picture of the two responses. After 24 hours of having the pump run...

AGP Cover Cable Busted - New Soup Ingredients 😞

To speed that process up, what would your thoughts be on getting a long 1.5" hose (like a vacuum hose) attached to my pump's intake, dropping that into the center of the pool (possibly weighting it down if necessary), and routing the output to the discharge port, again, through some kind of...

AGP Cover Cable Busted - New Soup Ingredients 😞

Hi, all. Thanks to TFP, opening up my AGP, adjusting and maintaining its chemistry, and closing up shop have been a BREEZE. I'm ridiculously grateful for having found this place. I was looking forward to opening my pool up later this month, but noticed yesterday that my cover cable busted...

Pool vacuum "hanging out on one side" of my AGP.

I have a 24' round AGP and I'm using a Kontiki 'chug-along" type (I don't know what else you'd call it) vacuum. For some reason, it tends to hang out on one side of my pool when operating. Never mind Sprinkles the Unicorn...she's a ham. The red line basically is the dividing line past which...

Is it normal to get air in your skimmer/pump/filter circuit?

Hey, Paul. Do you happen to have any photos of your pool's plumbing? I'd be curious to see how you did it with PVC and made it disconnectable. If not, don't go out of your way to get them. Thanks!

Is it normal to get air in your skimmer/pump/filter circuit?

I've applied some Molykote 111 lubricant/sealant on the pump lid O-ring, the channel it sits in, and the lip that the O-ring mates to when the pump lid is secured, so I'll keep an eye on it and see if this helps with the issue or, at least, the amount of "burp" that has to happen. If not, I...

Is it normal to get air in your skimmer/pump/filter circuit?

Yeah, the water level in the pool isn't in any danger of letting air down the skimmer. It's probably 1/2 to 3/4 of the way above the base skimmer line, so unless we have an earthquake here in Ohio :laughblue:, that's definitely not the issue, but I definitely appreciate your contributing.

Is it normal to get air in your skimmer/pump/filter circuit?

I was thinking about putting some Molykote lubricant on the pump lid seal, and what you said makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

Is it normal to get air in your skimmer/pump/filter circuit?

Hi. I've had a 24' above-ground pool now for a few years, and I'll never forget the day that I found TFP and the vast knowledge here, as that was when my completely-not-knowing-the-first-thing-about-pool-care rear got straightened out and haven't had problems since. So, hats off to this...

    Pool Math app

My apps all auto-update whenever I'm on WiFi, so I can only assume that if an update was pushed through the Google Play Store, I probably am on that version. To be certain, I'm currently showing that my installed Application Version is 3.0.9 (3331), last updated July 26, 2019.

    Yellow/Mustard Algae?

No. I know of no means to artificially alter the SLAM FC target other than by differences in CYA in the app. I believe that SLAM FC is supposed to be based mainly off of the FC/CYA charts here and in PS.

    Yellow/Mustard Algae?

Well, I'm definitely not there, and I'm currently running conditioner into my pool through my unused chlorinator to raise my level from approximately 10ppm. I'll check in the AM to see how much has actually dissolved. If not satisfactory, I'll start putting the squeeze on it.

    Yellow/Mustard Algae?

I didn't know if that was a bug or by design. I have another thread going, per your suggestion. I don't know who actually does the dev work on that. I can't imagine that it's a design thing, though. A pool would have to be nearly sewage for a standard SLAM target to be 28 ppm, no?

    Pool Math app

A little more experimentation may have led me toward something that either may need to be looked at, or is somehow by design but not plainly noted anywhere for users to see. Admittedly, I need to do a better job of logging my maintenance. I do my maintenance regularly, but I tend to enter...

    Yellow/Mustard Algae?

It's now showing correctly at SLAM target 10 ppm @ CYA 10 ppm (I'm adding). Is there something about not ticking off those "reminders" that alters the target SLAM FC? I ask because I admittedly forget at times to log my maintenance in the app despite having done it. I mainly put in test...

    Pool Math app

At the behest of another member here, I thought I'd post this and see if what I was seeing in the Pool Math app is a known issue, a one-off, an undiscovered issue, or whatever. I was combating some algae a few weeks ago and, in so doing, I discovered that my Pool Math app was showing me an odd...

    CYA Addition Technique?

Thank you for the response. I have a small tub of powdered stabilizer and I've still got some left. I wasn't able to think of any reason why the addition couldn't be made that way, but there are a lot of others here who are a lot more insightful than I, so I like to pick some brains when I...

    CYA Addition Technique?

Hi, all. Last year, when I had my pool installed, I was "blessed" with the installation of an Aqua Smarte auto-chlorinator (basically a different brand of Pool Frog with the Bac Pacs). Since joining up with TFP, since they saved my skin, I've taken any cartridge that was in it out and have...

    Yellow/Mustard Algae?

Sorry, I was out of the country for some time. I sent these screenshots to the PoolMath email address, but haven't seen anything back yet. Here they are, nonetheless. Please disregard the maintenance warning on my screen. I had simply not entered the maintenance performed by that time. The...
