    Pool store testing

It blows my mind how expensive those places are. I've been in a pool store twice, both times because my usual blue big box store was out of whatever I needed that day. First time, I was behind someone buying $650 worth of potions. Second time, I was behind someone paying $250. o_O No wonder...

Hurry up and wait! (Katy, TX)

Thought I'd provide a bit of an update, reflecting on what is coming up to be 5 months of pool ownership. Hopefully it'll be helpful to fellow newbies, and if not I'll ramble anyway. First off, I'm glad we went for the spa. At the beginning of this thread I was really debating whether or not...

    Fresh Gunite - Yellow/Green runoff?

Not sure what causes it, but mine had the same radioactive-green wash-off. It seemed to turn "normal" after a couple days.

Heating entire pool for 1st time

We heated up our pool a couple weekends ago, going from 49 deg to 84 deg. I started the heater at 5 PM and the pool was at temp by the time I got up the following morning at 9 AM. We have a small pool though so it didn't take that long. No specific steps other than turning on your pump, setting...

Hurry up and wait! (Katy, TX)

Hit the jackpot today. Some friends decided to redo their patio and were giving away their Polywood furniture. 2 Adirondacks and 2 loungers. I don't think I've said "I'll take 'em" so fast before :ROFLMAO:. All they need is a soapy scrub and should be good as new! Also added some pool noodle...

Ok, interesting. So the guts from one of these will fit into the current check valve housing?

Trying to figure out this plumbing set-up

Yes, my goal would be to use the Intellicenter Spillover setting to have the spillover when desired and not a constant like the current set-up. Once I could do this, the current Spa Return pipe would be useless. How would I shut off the spa return check valve?
