Hayward PL-PS8 Aux Buttons turned on on their own?

Well. It didn’t do it again this morning. Weird.

Hayward PL-PS8 Aux Buttons turned on on their own?

Woke up this morning and noticed the waterfalls and their lights (programmed to Aux 1 and 2 buttons) were running. Went to look at my security cameras and it seems they turned on at 445am this morning. This has never happened before. Thankfully I bypassed the cracked waterfall as otherwise...

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

…and sure enough after a couple hours of trouble shooting it was as simple as the flapper on the skimmer being stuck. There I am looking for rocks given what happened last time.

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

Thanks, found my strap wrench. Didn’t help, got the union off but the pipe has two short 90 deg and I can’t see anything. Could it be the filter? After priming the pump and turning on the filter to the highest speed then bleeding the air, after a couple of minutes could see the pressure...

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

This pool has been the death of me this year. Nothing seems to work properly. I assume to get a union off I need a tool for that as I can’t remove this by hand? Heck, for the life of me I can’t even get the oring off the lid and don’t want to force it (even with a plastic spluger). I’m...

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

Ffs…started again last night. This is ridiculous. How the heck could their be rocks in the lines if I keep the skimmer basket in their and obviously never have rocks in the pool?

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

Just an update....so ended up calling my pool guy since I was away for a few days and didn't want to not run the filter/pump. Couldn't figure it out at first, but for some reason decided to check the inflow from the skimmer, and turns out there was a couple large rocks in it. Weird. Have no...

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

Okay, read up on it and seems you bleed it while the pump is running and simply bleed until water starts to come out. Tried that but same issue, maybe I didn’t let it run enough post bleed? Filter only shows 10 on the gauge which feels light but not sure if that’s because of the air? Was just...

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

Also, when I bleed it do I do it with the pump running or off?

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

I think the bleeding of the filter is the part I’m forgetting. Remind me…just twist the bleed lever until water shoots out of it? Also, do I do the above with the pump on or off?

    Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

So keep having the same issue with my jets sputtering. I removed the pump top and filled it with water and then started the Filter again at the highest variable speed and all was well for a day. Then it happened again, and again this morn. Doesn’t appear to be a not enough water in the pool...

    How to repair waterfalls

If/when I do get it done, any reccos on how to hook it up to winterize it pre winter? Assume that would imply just spraying air into it like I would my irrigation system somehow. Or should I run some antifreeze solution through it (put some into the pump and run it when closing?). Presumably...

    Issue with sheer descent

Bumping an old thread. Curious, when they reinstalled the stone cap, did they apply mortor below and above the sheer descents or some form of caulk instead? One or two of mine are leaking and I’m not sure if it’s the fact that something froze in there and cracked a sheer descent, or if as the...

    How to repair waterfalls

Watching the video a few times that’s what I’m wondering as well. The water almost looks like it comes out of the sheer at the beginning. Either cracked in winter or possibly the grout on top and bottom of the sheer as that grout has been deteriorating and cracking over time.

    How to repair waterfalls

Apologies for the camera moving. I had to stick my hand up there without seeing what I was video taping so moved it back and forth.

    How to repair waterfalls

Yeah. Unfortunately not so easy. I removed the wrong cinder block … but regardless I’d have to remove at least two from the top which would make it unstable given the 4x18”x2” flagstone slab on the top. In any event … found the leak. Had a feeling the a-hole pool company my contractor used...

    How to repair waterfalls

So last year one of my 3 waterfall lights went out and that’s when I realized the way they were installed was quite stupid in the sense that there are no openings in the masonry wall to get to each waterfall if something goes south. Well it went more south. My daughter asked me to turn them...

    Bypass after shocking

Yes, have a test kit, but typically don't test for a bit after a shock. I guess I should check PH in particular. Hayward replaced my heater out of warranty last year when the exchanger failed, so am a bit more hesitant to put water into it when it is high in chemicals. Didn't know FC had...

Quick question - looking for a longer spike for pool cover holder ...

Not sure what this is called, but trying to see if I can find a 3 or even 4 foot one given it's quite short and sometimes pulls up in the winter causing the cover to sag (I have a feature waterfall wall, which I'm finding is a real pain as the bolts tend to pull out of the wall over...

    Bypass after shocking

Just opened up my pool last Thursday (get a service for it) and they as usual shocked the pool. I have kept the gas heater off and been using my bypass to hopefully spare the heat exchanger from the chemicals of the shock. Curious, any thoughts as to how long I would leave the heater off for...

    Jandy Valve Question

Thanks, weird thing was that it was moving freely before I realized somehow it the black top/screw thing had screwed a bit loose. I just wasn't sure if when I screwed it back tight if I had moved the handle back to teh same spot or not, or how to check it for that matter.
