    Stabilizing PH

Not sure if you were on the same page as marty for the pucks. As he said they are acidic, so if anything they are helping keep your PH down and would not be causing it to rise. Wood ashes are alkaline (ph 10-12), so if you are indeed getting a significant amount of those in your pool it seems...

Ready to just throw in the towel

As mentioned that particular jug is no good as it is 3 years old. But that brand of chlorine is fine. I believe you got it from Menards, I've never seen int more than a couple months old so guessing you've had that jug for awhile? I use that brand all the time, it is 12.5%. If you have a...

How critical is having high CYA in a SWG pool?

They aren't really a "no-no"; they are a perfectly acceptable way to add FC if you realize they are also going to raise your CYA. Some people (myself included) start the CYA on the low end at the beginning of the year so that we can use pucks on short vacations to help maintain FC and have some...

    Amount of liquid Chlorine

I know many people don't like to double pour, but I like precision, so I use something like this to measure: HDX 1 Quart Natural Paint Bucket 2M3 - The Home Depot

What’s the easiest way to aerate to increase PH?

If you have an adjustable return jet you should be able to point it up so that the stream breaks the surface of the water. That's the method I used.

    Pool foam! Help!

How deep is your water? Assuming common 48" for an above ground pool, it would be 9x16.5xpix4 = 1866 cu ft = ~ 14,000 gallons

    HIGH TA

Just checking since you have such a high TA number, did you follow the procedure below when adding R-0009? If not I'd retest.

    Stabilizing PH

Ah that makes sense. PH rise of .2 seems reasonable with that water feature.

    Stabilizing PH

Seems like kind of a quick PH rise for TA of 70. Do you have fountains, waterfalls, jets breaking the surface or any other form of aeration going on?

    Is heating an AGP practical?

Thanks, I'm pretty aware of the common commercial offerings as well as some diy poly pipe options.. that heater just looked very unique and I was specifically curious about the manifold construction.

Is this a pool or a swamp? Help

Don't worry - there is definitely hope. I have a 27' AG pool I also filled from my iron rich well 2 years ago. The water went in crystal clear. A few hours after adding chlorine for the initial SLAM - it turned into chocolate milk. Polyfil in the skimmer basket and vacuuming the sediment off...
