Any idea of bolt threads and size for this? Hayward

Thanks for your post. I was able to get the part number and search it and find the Hayward Diagram which got me the screws part number, and hence was able to find the thread and length. Much appreciated!

Any idea of bolt threads and size for this? Hayward

My waterfall and filter in take, probably not calling it by right name, have these plastic caps that cover the suction so you don’t stick hand in it. When my pool guy closed my pool, he put the caps away but I can’t find the bolts anywhere. Need to buy new ones but no idea what thread or length...

so the back is all rusted out and has a hole in the back of the cover. I am assuming now that I need to replace the motor. I think I found an exact model motor replacement for the pump. I am watching some youtube videos on the process now

    Waterfall pump not turning on

Here is the original one and the pump, I put the new one in and it didn’t work, so now I’m assuming the cap was fine and it’s the windings , but now I can’t get the back of the pump off because the bolts are terribly stripped/rounded. Ugh. Not sure why my sig says that, I don’t think I ever put...

    Waterfall pump not turning on

Thanks guys, good resources. Question, I was able to get a 30mF cap locally, but when I opened my pump it only had a 20mF cap inside. Both are 370 v. Can I use the 30 or do I have to use a 20?

Thanks Jim, is that something I can do myself? Or does that need to be handled by a pro?

    Waterfall pump not turning on

I have a Hayward super pump that powers a waterfall. It’s not turning on. When I flip the switch to give it power, I hear a low buzzing sound like motor is trying to turn on but can’t. I’ve read it could mean the windings are tight or something blocking? Anyone have anything I can try? My normal...

    Hayward H400FDN problem

Thanks for the replies! I do have a multimeter and I am comfortable working around lines. I do not have any automatic. The system is about 9 years old. Will the manual show me which wires to check for power coming into the unit?

    Hayward H400FDN problem

I just got my pool open and my heater Hayward H400FDN is not showing anything on the LCD panel. When we turned it off last year, it was OK so something happened over the winter. My pool guy said he doesn't know how to repair this, and that it may be the main panel or main circuit board. I...

    Electrical question

Everyone, thanks for all the replies and help! Much appreciated! Its definitely a 125V 20Amp receptacle. However, the 20amp receptacle I bought is not working. When I checked with the multimeter, I do not remember which side I checked with, I always thought that for AC black and white did not...

    Electrical question

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but hopefully someone can help me out. My pool builder put two receptacles both 120V GFI in my pool area, one by the filter, and one on the other side of the pool. It appears my GFI receptacle went bad on one of them. The outlet stopped working, but...

Hayward Multiport valve SP0740DE spider gasket, glue?

I am getting DE back in my pool, and I checked the grids and the top plumbing, and all looks good. So my next step is to replace the spider gasket in the MPV. I have a Hayward SP0740DE. I got the new valve, and got the old one out. But I cannot get it to sit in the grooves properly. I can't...

Algae patches in pool, can we swim?

We went away on vacation for 10 days and upon coming back, I noticed we have some patches of algae in the pool, on the beach entry, and also on a sitting shelf in the back of the pool. I have a SWG, and tested the water, and the FC is reading very high, around 5, and the available is the same...

    Polaris problem

Yeah, doing the tune up allowed me to really learn the polaris inside and out, I had pretty much every part taken off and laid out on my bench. So when you are angling it up toward 11:00, are you going as high up as it will go, or are you just slightly above center horizontally, pointing at...

    Polaris problem

Guys, thanks for all your help. I ended up buying the 380 tune up kit for around $125. I went through the instructions, and in breaking it all down, I figured out really all I needed was the bearings. I had about 5 bearings that were between bad and completely shot. All the rest of the parts...

    Polaris problem

Thanks for the replies guys. I pull it out of the water tonight and a few things. I am not exactly sure which model it is, because I do not see a model number on it, but it looks closest to the 360 or the 380, I do have a booster pump that runs it. The wheels were initially not moving, and it...

    Polaris problem

Hey everyone, I have had my Polaris for 4 years, this will be my 5th season. The builder included it as part of the pool build, and he installed a dedicated booster pump for it. I just got my pool opened and it was a mess. I vacuumed it as well as I could, cloudy water made it hard to see...
