Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I'm a Yankee transplanted in Tulsa. Great place. Atwoods is the place to get liquid chlorine though there isn't one in Tulsa itself, have to go to one of the suburbs. I buy 3-4 cases at a time as my pool uses about a gallon a day. It's well worth the drive.

What did you do to your pool today?

Dug out the leaves, got the pump running, ran the robot a few times, gave it a good brushing. CYA was low so I threw some leftover shock in the pool, brought CL level to SLAM level. Pool is clearing up nicely, should be ready for swimming soon, once it warms up a bit

Yes really - another Houston pool!

Consider your priorities. If it is to have a swim lane, I would widen the pool, say to the edge of the existing column, pull the spa back by two feet and shorten it, or get rid of the spa. Will result in a smaller spa but provide the swim lanes. Possibly also consider a stand-alone spa

Advice on Remodeling a Pool in Tulsa for a Non-Pool Person

Do you know who built your pool? I had mine redone a few years ago (tile, coping, new plaster, bonding, drainage) by the son of a local builder. He did a good job but was slow since it was a side job. The problem is that it is difficult to get contractors interested in "smaller" rebuild jobs...

    Is it worth it?

Worth is decided by the individual. My kids used the pool a lot when they were younger. They are grown now but the grandkids have taken over. Personally, once the weather heats up, I'm usually in it every evening. To me it's worth it.

    Replacing gaskets in Hayward multivalve?

I fought this issue myself the past few years (replaced gasket, valve continued to leak, replace gasket again, etc.) and ultimately replaced the top assembly. With the new assembly though, I realized the cause of my problem was the old spring, which wasn't raising the face enough and would tug...

What did you do to your pool today?

Yesterday, took what I believe will be the last swim of the year. Water temperature at 82 F but cool weather forecast for the next week. I'm sure by next weekend the water will be too cold for me to swim in. Summer is fading

Buying a home with an old pool - remodeling thoughts and strategy - Help!

And to add to what Kim said, my grandkids, ages 4-10 can spend all day doing cannonballs off the diving board. When we have kiddie swim parties, the line for the diving board can be 10 kids deep. Keep the deep end, kids like to jump into the pool.

A Spa will be expensive to add (there are other threads that address this). Would be cheaper to add a stand alone one.

    My Summer is Officially Over

I had similar surgery last November (after closing the pool), had bunion removed, joint replaced, broken bone from my childhood some 50 years ago repaired (at the time I didn't tell my parents about it for 3 weeks. By then the doctor said it was already healing on it's own). Had the same...

What did you do to your pool today?

Vacuumed pool yesterday, but it's been a busy couple of weeks with the pool. Had an issue with the pool losing water level and discovered a crack in the body of the 5-way valve on top of the filter (not sure how this happened). So ordered a new valve and decided to run pump only 1/2 hour per...

I'm not an expert, but the prices above don't seem outrageous. I redid my pool last year (125 feet) with new tile, coping and white plaster plus deck drains, light and other miscellaneous stuff for just over $13 K. Don't have a feel for Pebbletec/PebbleSheen but I understand it's more...
