    What would you do?

My CYA is 40, so I target FC at 6. I have let a a puck sit on the stain from time to time, and I can definitely see the area under the puck lighten. I will definitely try the the item you suggested, would make it a lot easier then trying to push/ position the puck with the pool brush. I think...

    What would you do?

We build our pool in 1994 and I didn’t discover TFP until 2016 ,so used pool store recommendations for many years. One of the recommendations included all chemical additions to be added to the deep end of pool . This resulted in the plaster near the deep end drain being effected( etched?) and...

Here I am again asking TFP for help. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I am trying to ” check out as a guest” and use a credit card. The screen just keeps reloading PayPal and asking for a password.

Lower water to waste, DE in pool

Thank you both for the quick reply. I do turn off the pump whenever switching between setting. I do have a rinse, I guess I should have used that! Going forward ,I will use the submersible pump, much easier the dragging backwash hose a distance and rolling back up!

Lower water to waste, DE in pool

    Mechanical timers

Sorry, I‘m confused by your response, but maybe because my question wasn‘t clear. The wheel for the pump is not keeping time. I can turn On manually, but if I put a stop or start thingy on the wheel, it doesn’t turn on or off because the wheel doesn’t advance. Had the same issue previously for...

    I got pool stored

I also have many years of being pool stored before I found TFP. I do take a sample after adding water for opening. ( fill with well) I tried to politely suggest that testing was wrong, I couldn’t see how my pH could be so high with my TA at 0! They politely told me I didn’t know what I was...

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

Right, I don’t really know where it was stored before purchasing from pallets inside store. But if we assume inside storage , is there any calculation to figure out how quickly it breakdown?

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I just bought 10 jugs of Walmart liquid chlorine for 5.47 gallon date 100th day of 2023. How long before this starts to breakdown ? It was located inside store . Trying to decide if I should buy more before it’s gone .

Vacation, can I close the skimmer

The skimmer action is very slow with the poorly fitting solar cover ( 2 pieces ), and a few leaves have been sucked in, but I‘m really just worried that a big storm would mean lots of leaves in the skimmer.

Vacation, can I close the skimmer

WOW , yes, what a great idea! I will fill the skimmers with leaves tomorrow and see what happens at different intervals and report back! TFP again for the win! THANK YOU!

Vacation, can I close the skimmer

Thank you for your reply. My go to neighbor is also away next week, and the plants are mostly dead already! I have a very old system ( 30 yrs) no automation just a clock timer. I will leave all plumbing set as is, and even if the the skimmer tied to the drain gets clogged, the drain itself...

Vacation, can I close the skimmer

So the main drain would be enough to keep the pump from being starved of water if the skimmer get full of leaves?

Vacation, can I close the skimmer

Well not really vacation ,but we will be away for 5 days. The leaves are falling like crazy, and I can’t find anyone to empty the skimmers. We do have a solar cover, but it doesn’t fit well and I afraid the skimmers might get full. They have been fine for days, but it’s suppose to storm while we...
