anyone resurfaced themselves to fix a leaky concrete pool?

Re: anyone resurfaced themselves to fix a leaky concrete poo My plaster pool was losing water thru the surface. Not sure how old it was, but the plaster was bubbling up all over since the pool was drained for a long time and delaminated. Didn't find out until after we bought the house and...

New pump, filter and Swg install

I did the same on mine. I have 1.5" copper lines going to the equipment pad, but just had new equipment put in. It all has 2" running between it and just reduces to 1.5" where it connects to the copper lines. My variable speed pump cavitates over 3000 rpm, but I normally run it much slower...

    Sparkle quartz

Plaster is priced based on outside linear feet only, so priced based on gallons of pool size is not accurate. Mine was 95 linear feet (25k gallons) and was $4k for plaster and $1500 more for quartz. Love the color way more than white plaster, well worth it. A spa jumps the price up, as the...

New Build and Marcite Questions Quartz Scape/Color

I have a quartz plaster that was just done in Tahoe color, its a grey / blue look to it with a nice blue color of the water. I love it. Oh yeah, my shallow end is 3' deep, deep end is 9' deep.

First Pool and its Salt Water

Since the salt system is there, yes, it will save you money. You will not have to go buy chlorine to add to the pool. The salt system converts the salt in the pool to chlorine and you just adjust the system to keep the pool with the proper amount of chlorine in it. With the cover on the pool...

Will SWCG shut down pump with low flow?

I have a Pentair IC40, and it uses a flow meter to only turn on/off the SWG. No other control, but I don't use an automation system either.

Will an SWG save me money?

Not to mention just your personal time saved from buying chroline to adding it to the pool.

Will an SWG save me money?

I think its worth it just not to have to add chlorine! Was having to constantly check and add, then having to run to the store to buy it, then take time to add it. My levels were always low too, like 0-2. Now with just running the SWG for 48 hours, I have it up to 5.

DE Filter - How long does DE Last

I am surprised my pressure hasn't risen more. On a fresh re-plaster, with all the plaster dust I have filtered, its only gone up about 5 psi. So half way to backwash. Sure beats that old cartridge filter I was dealing with before the remodel.

    Cost of SWG for IGP

I paid $1350 for my Pentair IC40 installed. I did the salt addition myself and used 16 bags of salt at $7.07 ea. The equipment is easy for them to install, not sure why they would quote so high. I had a skimmer replace, a pump, filter, and SWG installed in 4 hours. They had to cut concrete...

    DIY plastering

Yeah, I have a video of the plaster guys doing my pool. They had a crew of guys doing it. 1-2 guys at the mixer, on3 applying, and like 4 guys with trowels spreading and smoothing. Unless you have a tiny pool, its worth the cost to have someone do it. There is no way I would do that on my...

Pool Build - California Dreaming - 3 Years Closer

Re: Pool Build - California Dreaming For reference, page 11 of the IC40 manual. 12-18" prefered straight pipe on the inlet of the SWG. Since it uses a flow meter to turn it on, it probably needs it to get a good flow reading without a lot of turbulence...

So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

Oh, I see. So when would be a good time to add the borates, do you think? Maybe just get my SWG stable and then do it?

So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

Well, this pool has only been open for 5 weeks this friday, just had it replastered/tiled. I will work on getting the TA down and just get my SWG going this weekend and add the borates once I get the water stable and where I want it.

So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

Ok, so I am looking to go this route. I need to add salt this weekend and turn on the SWG. Would I be ok going with the borates this weekend, or wait a little while and get the SWG stable before hand? With adding liquid chlorine, I am having difficulty with keeping chlorine in the pool, my PH...

Pool Build - California Dreaming - 3 Years Closer

Re: Pool Build - California Dreaming Dang, such a huge project! Looking like its coming together good. One thing I noticed when I saw all your equipment, is the SWG....I had mine put in and the instructions said to have a min 12" of straight pipe on the inlet to the SWG. Yours has a bend...

    buying a house

Since it sounds like the pool needs work, you are better off having some pool contractors come to take a look at the pool and give a repair estimate. A pool inspection will only tell you what's wrong, but wont cover the actual cost to fix it.

So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

Ok, just wanted to make sure, since in the begining it was stated to make sure that animals don't drink a lot from it. Knowing that my wife is really anal about the baby ingesting anything that he shouldn't, I figured I'd ask. Thanks!

So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

I found this very interesting, but haven't read thru all the infomation yet. My first question from going this route is that I have a 1 year old baby who is starting off in the pool this summer. He likes to taste the water. Will this be safe for him, or should I wait until he's old enough...
