Pool & Spa Heat Command - Getting IntelliFlo to increase RPM when heater kicks on?

Follow Up: As a test, I changed the settings. Heat Command to HEATER, Change Heat Set Point to YES, Heat Set Point to 80. Spa went off and it worked!

Pool & Spa Heat Command - Getting IntelliFlo to increase RPM when heater kicks on?

I found this older thread (below) and while it sort of answers my question, it didn't answer it 100% and I want to pose this to the experts on here. I have a new IntelliFlo3 VSF and I have programmed it to change RPM's when the heater is on for either the Spa or the pool - or so I thought. The...

    Test kit

I have the SpeedStir and I LOVE IT. No more sloshing and mixing by hand! (And I do mean sloshing, I used to spill stuff everywhere when testing!!)

    Test kit

I just got my TF-100 refill set (that I bought during the March sale) and I am extremely happy with the contents. The TF-100 kit is awesome and I am glad I discovered it back in 2016 from this site!! I don't dislike Taylor, I just have stuck with TF Test kits.

Old pump blew out - repair or replace question

Can anyone chime in on the questions from yesterday about ScreenLogic and Pentair Home co-existing? In all honestly, it looks like I could just keep SceenLogic standalone and not even bother with Pentair Home but, if they are going to discontinue ScreenLogic (and support of same), then that's...

IC-40 SWG Reads Low Salt at 3200 ppm?

It might, indeed, be the low water temps but I had a situation a four years back. When your Salt ppm reading is low (or zero) and you KNOW there is more salt in the pool than that, the first "fix" is to check/replace the temp/flow switch inside the SWG. Second, the next "fix" will likely be a...

Pre pool opening (white water mold)

Holy Smokes, this was an awesome thread to read all at once. The battle between good (Badpoolmom) and evil (Whitewatermoldville) coursing back and forth!! I live in the Kansas City area and I had to open early this year as well, the temps got into the 70's WAY too early and I started to see...

What did you do to your pool today?

Started adding salt to bring the level up to the right threshold for the SWG. Cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. Made sure all the automaton and hardware were functioning like they should be. Fired the heater to make sure it was going to work when I need it.

Klean Strip “Green” Muriatic Acid (90% less fumes)

I looked into this extensively a few years ago and had written notes on KleenStrip Green showing it was 13 Baume and 20% HCL. Now, they could have changed the formula since I made these notes approx 4 years ago but that's what I found at that time. The standard is 20 Baume at 31.45% as noted by...

Old pump blew out - repair or replace question

Any update for those who answered my questions on the IntellitFlo3......I can hardly hear the dang thing it's SO quiet. THANK YOU for all the input. As a follow up, I have the ScreenLogic app on my PC and Phone controlling the IntelliTouch automation panel. All the literature with the new...

Thank you for that, it makes me feel a lot better about the unknown. I'll monitor this thread for more replies as wel.

Old pump blew out - repair or replace question

Hi All, My pool was installed in 2014 so the main pump is now 10 years old and it gave up the ghost when it was energized during reopening today. I have two options from my pool company to consider and thought, hey, TFP would be a good place to bounce this off of. I have the Pentair...

Resetting ScreenLogic Protocol Adapter (PA) - personal experience

Realizing that these are older threads (below), I do have some information that I feel will be helpful should someone search the forum for issues with the ScreenLogic Protocol Adapter being picked up by the PC based ScreenLogic application. I had this issue crop up a while back when I had to...

    Salt chlorine generator advice

My Pentair IC-60 recently had the issue where it was reading my salt ppm very low and shutting itself down. The things that were checked in order were (1) the temperature/flow switch (2) the salt circuit board in the main panel and (3) the entire unit swapped out. The first two didn't fix the...

Interpreting my CYA Level - How much does that black dot really disappear?

I agree that the visual test for CYA is a pain in the butt. I always saw the dang dot but then took the advice from here about "first glance." I still call CYA my least favorite test but......at least I don't stare at the vial anymore!!!

HELP NEEDED for SWG above ground pool - Newbies need help to get it balanced! Please help

Question 1: I use a TF-100 from TFTestkits.net as well as a Taylor K-1766 for salt ppm tests. That was the advice this forum gave me about 4 years ago and I've never looked back. The CYA reagent is R-0013 and you can buy different sizes if you need more tests. I once got a 16 oz size but the...

Recent Issue with Pentair IC-60 Salt ppm readings (and resolution)

So, about the first of July, I noted that the FC was dropping in the pool despite the SWG being set where it's always been set where it maintains 7-9 ppm FC. I checked the SWG settings and the Salt ppm was reading 2000. Well, I knew that the salt ppm was closer to 3,400 based on how I keep the...

Rookie trying to figure out chemisty.

No worries, I made the same mistake yesterday in a posting. Add FC + CC to get TC (That's what the instructions say.) It's easy to get it mixed up!!

General question on accuracy of drop tests vs other tests

Great information on the TA issue. "If left alone, the TA will drop until it's in equilibrium and acid used goes way down." This actually 'splained it the best. Thanks!
