    Big three warranty changes

Why would you want to move to a state without licensing? For most professions, having a licensing requirement equals more money. Looks to me like Pentair is joining Zodiac (Polaris) in a 60 day warranty for equipment installed by someone other than a certified professional. Hayward is...

    Big three warranty changes

Paul, What is a "certified professional"? Here in Texas pool builders do not have any licensing requirements. Does one have to take a class from each manufacturer?

how to install a stenner pump?

If your builder has not finished the pad plumbing. Have them put a T fitting in the return line. Use a slip/female thread/slip. Put a plug in female thread. When you install the Stenner the injection point is threaded. You may need an adapter to get the size correct. No drilling or tapping...

    Liquidator and variable speed pumps

Forgot to add. I have a 15gallon tank. I was able to go on a 10 day vacation this summer and did not have to ask anybody to add bleach. I can probably go a little longer, since Walmart and HEB bleach is now 8.25% vs 6%. Last summer I left for 10 days and the Liquidator decided for some...

    Liquidator and variable speed pumps

I agree with Bama. I tried the Liquidator and a variable speed pump. I tried many different configurations and could never get consistent CL flows. I have a single variable speed pump, no spa but do have a water feature that spills into the pool and a bubbler in the sunshelf. The pump is...

    Refilling Liquidator

Larry, I don't think it is going to drain with the pump off, when your pump is lower than the pool water level. It will raise the float to exit to the pool, but won't go anywhere. With the pump off you can add bleach until the water reached the top of the Liquidator, the next time the pump...

Installing EasyTouch w/IC60. Any issues to consider?

To setup a higher speed for skimming you have two options: use an aux button or a feature. Define the aux button or feature, then assign to one of the pump speeds, then program schedule to activate. The aux button or feature can be added to the valve control later. I used the Aux extra...

How to setup a Pentair Valve Actuator?

Bill that's correct. Set Aux 4 to Valve A When Aux 4 is ON Valve A will rotate to the cam stop in the direction selected by the switch position on the actuator. When Aux 4 is OFF Valve A will rotate the opposite direction to the other cam stop. Yes, leave the actuator switch in the same...

    Water in my electrical box...

I will bet that the junction box with the flex conduit is in your case the equivalent of a light deck box. It needs to be raised up to meet Code and to prevent flooding. Good thing is that with the flex conduit it can be raised with not a lot of trouble. This will require new conduit between...

How to setup a Pentair Valve Actuator?

Bill, Under Settings go to Valves. You should see valves A and B. You then assign a circuit to the valve. For example, Valve A = AUX 4. Whenever AUX 4 is on Valve A will operate. The direction of the valve rotation is determined by the three position switch on the valve itself...

Will the Liquidator work in my setup

Txmat, I can make you a great deal on one if you decide to go that way. I used mine for 3 months and am just north of San Antonio. PM if you are interested.

    Disaster

GOOGLE water level. You can make one with a milk jug and some tubing. If used carefully, it can be very accurate. I used one to set my coping when I built my pool. I have a transit but this was easier when working alone.

Making certain I have the electrical plan correct

This is the way I set mine up. Pentair VS pump - Connects to communication bus for control and renders relay #1 useless. Polaris pump - Relay #2 Intellibrite lights - Relay #3 Water feature light - Relay #4 I have (2) Intellibrite lights and both are connect to the same circuit and to relay...

Making certain I have the electrical plan correct

I have the Easytouch 4. Yes, you can run one feed to it and it is basically another subpanel. The breakers do not come with the Easytouch. I think it takes Siemens breakers. I did not have a pool light junction box. I ran my lights directly to the Easytouch panel. Be careful if you get...

Making certain I have the electrical plan correct

The #8 AWG bare solid bonding conductor needs to follow the perimeter of your pool (18"-24") from the inside wall of the pool. This bonding conductor must attached to the pool rebar at a minimum of (4) points uniformly spaced around the pool. The pool light niche bond needs to make a...

    Signal for Jandy Actuator?

Actually the Jandy valve actuator operates off of 24VAC. The actuator has a three-wire input. Black = common, red = switched, white = switched. Both the red and white leads connect internally to the motor. If the red is switched on the motor turns in one direction, when the white is...

    Pump Advice - Pool/Waterfeature

Thanks for the advice. Option 1 was my original intent and I puposely paid a little extra in materials and time to plumb the extra wall drains in case I had to add another pump. I should also save on electricity during the winter when the freeze protection is on without the second pump.

    Pump Advice - Pool/Waterfeature

I have been a lurker for sometime. I am currently in the middle of a OB/DIY build. I am indebted to this forum and another forum for the learned knowledge to build a pool. I am at the point that I will need to purchase a pump(s) and would like some advice. All plumbing is 2" except Polaris...

    Starting the process

That would be a third from me. Chris designed our pool about 12 months ago. The pool is a work in progress at this point and we are happy with the design. We are in Texas.

Thanks for all the responses. I will be using sch40 PVC. No flex. And I do plan to have a pressure type cleaner independant return(polaris 280).

    Looped Return

How important is looped returns? Some builders are quoting looped returns others are not. Pool with be inground gunite, 22,000 gal, 115 ft perimeter. Equpment pad will be 50-70 ft from pool. I have asked for 2" minimum suction with (3) direct runs to the equipment pad. (1) from each...
