    Hayward Turbo Cell 15 lifespan?

The cell is plenty big for the pool. The builder, who is also the maintainer, runs the cell at 100% during the warm months. I used to tell him I didn’t want it that high because of wear and over-chlorination but he said that’s their policy. I have to admit during the three years I didnt live...

    Hayward Turbo Cell 15 lifespan?

I have a Hayward T-15 that will be in service four years this coming September. In the past, when the automation showed low salt, I’d have the pool guy boil out the cell and everything would read normal (3200ppm) until the next cleaning was needed. Just recently the salt level was reported to...

    BYOP Arizona Referral

Not answering your question, but before you give up on builders, call Marc Ballard at No Limit Pools. Tell him Eric from Mountain Bridge sent you. He’s good and gets in and out quick. I was six weeks permit to swim and that was high season.

    Mesa Arizona New Build! Help

For the kind of dirt you get in the desert, in-floor is the way to go. I’m at my house in Mesa an average of six weeks per year and the pool is ALWAYS sparkling clear. I have service once per week and it’s a salt pool with a chlorine generator cell, variable speed pump, and a cartridge filter...

    Need suggestion/opinion on pool design

I think putting a seven foot well in the middle of your pool will get old in a hurry. Seven foot is too deep to stand in and too shallow to dive. You’ll have to swim each time you go back and forth in the pool. I’d put the seven foot depth adjacent to the cabana, the most logical jump-in point...

Polymeric sand or self-leveling sealant on expansion joint?

Neither SikaFlex or Sonneborn products should stain travertine. Some Sika products aren’t recommended for prolonged chlorine exposure (5ppm) and some Sonneborn products in white don’t hold color under UV exposure. Whatever you decide, read the literature before deciding on a purchase.

Looks amazing!! What is your plaster color? Enjoy that pool and gorgeous view. I’m about five miles west of you at Elsworth & McKellips. My view is of Pass Mountain, but I’ve always loved the Superstitions.

I’ve never used MDF crown moulding. I hate the dust and it’s hard to cope without chipping.

    This one is for me....

You do nice work Brian. How do you find working with fypon crown moulding as opposed to wood? I’ve never used it, but I’ve got some long runs in the new house, and wood products get crappier every year.

Good choice on opening up that wall. Now you’ve got a clear shot from your recliner to the front door. Somebody busts in, they’ll never know what hit ‘em.

Can you make the roof free-standing? Wouldn’t change the HOA definition of an accessory structure so their requirements don’t change. Would the city’s requirements change for the better?

Can you take care of your shear requirements by using a wide flange between posts with welded moment connections at the top of your posts instead of relying on your footings?

Hydro vac excavation. As long as your soil is tight, a good wand man can cut a pretty clean hole. How many holes do you have? Vac truck and one operator for a day will run about $2500.

New Pool Build in Apache Junction AZ

I’ve got Aqua Blue which isn’t Aqua White but you can check my build thread and see how that turned out. Depth of water has a big affect on color as does the stuff you have nearby reflecting onto it. That color you’re looking for looks like a Tahoe or reverse Tahoe in my opinion.

Small Pool build in NW Peoria, AZ

There are a couple mobile R/O units operating in the Phoenix metro area. They can turn a pool over in one day with minimal water loss. Having this done once every three years is a better solution than having soft water run to your auto fill. R/O takes away all the other nasties that soft water...

Regarding the gate . . . Build half a gate and bill the half that want it. The other half that don’t want a gate can just drive around it. Sometimes you have to think outside the box on these things. :-)

How did they dig the pool? Helical screws can be screwed in with an attachment on a skidder. You might consider spending five hundred bucks on a ground penetrating radar service to locate your plumbing. Electrical shouldn’t be hard to find by conventional methods.

    This one is for me....

Have you considered helical piers in lieu of conventional footings?

New Pool Build in Apache Junction AZ

The spa has pop ups on the benches and a floor drain. I suppose some of the stirred up dirt goes over the spillway and into the pool as well. I, for one, hate having a hose and head unit always in the pool or lying on the deck. Not to mention the “drowning bobcat” noise my neighbor’s cleaner...

I have in-floor and wouldn’t be without it. I see my pool four times a year and a pool service comes once per week for about ten minutes. The pool is always clean and clear.
