    Do I need to SLAM?

    Just checked my pool after 3 days away and FC is 3.4 Target is 8 due to 55 CYA. Algae present in corners and some on pool floor. Just added bleach to reach target - 4 litres. Brushed sides and Dolphin cleaner is in. Is SLAM necessary?

    SLAM complete

    After 8 days my pool water is clear. CC is 0.5 and no overnight Chlorine loss. Upon starting SLAM is lowered the pH too much to 6.5 ppm. At what FC level do I add the soda ash ( mixed in a bucket and added to the skimmer) to raise pH and baking soda to raise TA?

    cloudy pool

    I let the chlorine drop too low when treating with IPG Metaban for copper staining. AI think algae bloomed overnight and today pool is cloudy. I have added pH up and 3 ups of 10% chlorine but still cloudy this afternoon. What should I do next?
