I have an IC40 that keeps reporting low salt even though the water temp is 78 and I've measured the salt level at around 3600ppm. The system says it is at about 6,000 usage hours or 60% of it's life. Reading through a lot of olds threads has led me to believe that I need to replace the flow switch / temp sensor (part 520736). Any recommendations or advice on buying the replacement part?

I see third party parts for about $25 on amazon, but the brand name part ranges anywhere from $90 to $275 (Leslie's pool supply). That's a big price difference which is making me scratch my head a bit on this one. Is the $25 part really as good as the $275 part?

PT,

Check how many wires are in the cable between the Cell and the Flow Switch, before you buy a new one..

The older units have 4-wire cables and the newer ones have 3-wire cables..

If you have a 4-wire cable you can use a 4 or 3 wire flow switch..

If you have a 3-wire cable, you can only use the newer 3 wire flow switch.

Thanks,

Jim R.
